This is my 1972 Lincoln Continental. She is in decent shape but can use a little cleaning here and there.
She had been sitting under a carport for 6,5 years. I changed the battery and it started right up.
The interior could use a little cleaning as well as the engine bay along with some other minor things, but she is 44 years old and still going strong!
I hope y'all enjoyed this video, feel free to leave a comment below in the comment section and have a nice day!
Thanks for watching.

I just love these old land yachts from this era. Cut my teeth on New Yorkers and Imperials ... but now I’d be proud to drive any grand survivor!! Keep ‘er beautiful, friend!!

I had a 1966 with suicide doors white with black vinyl exterior and leather interior. It was like riding around in my living room. Take care of and enjoy your treasure.

Nice car you got there, I consider 1972 to be the best year of the 1970's Lincoln's styling wise, I also liked how performance and acceleration was still good with the first year of the lower compression engines during the 1972 model year yet they weren't fully smogged out with emission controls.

The big block 460cid 4v, was a very good performer in 1972. Nice car. Enjoy.

Beautiful Town Car , judging from the seats and the headrests. It deserves a non sticking our quiet exhaust.

Nice continental. Love the 70-74. It sure has a much louder exhaust than original. Just like my 75 town car

Nice...I think you posted on the forum too right? I havent had time to go there, but I put A LOT of writeups and pics on the 72.... So...just me showing off a bit, but you have 75+ truck emblem (red instead of body color), no resonator in the exhaust, and some kind of extension on the hoot release? I dont want to come off as nickpicking. Its a BEAUTIFUL car and really clean. I think by now you might have addressed the few bugs I cought. The wiper relay might be shot since the wipers dont park below the hood. And the low fuel light is not connected to the gauge at all. I did a writeup on the low fuel warning relay, wich is a cartridge style unit, with a transistor (woohoo for 72 lol). They tend to go bad and are tough to fix, but can be found. Other than that, I wont nickpick under the hood since time takes its toll on the vinyl and plastic bits. (I guess Im trying to add some helpful info in case you didnt know...and my Lorelei, she has her bugs still...but she still runs great too!)

I have a 1976 Lincoln Continental with the extra cost Town Car trim in Dove Gray with a crushed velour interior and the large headrests. It is much better than the Cadillacs of that era.

Nice Lincoln , the following years had huge bumpers from laws passed in the US, which ruined the looks of lots of mid 70s cars. Just curious, what country are you in

Actually, Lincoln was very clever in their '73-75 front bumpers... UNlike Cadillac, they used a kind of rubber-block-shearing system that only moved the bumper forward a couple inches, and they could still use the same, classy bumper until they redesigned the nose with the Mark-type grille.

well look at a 72 Mark IV and a 73-76 Mark IV, and compare, big difference , and the 72 was much better looking

Hi did you ever park your Lincoln in between to other cars and then backing it out with out your front end hitting the car next to you?

Are u in Canada or Europe? I'm having a hard time placing your license plate or your accent. Just curious. I get a kick out of trying to guess where people are from when I watch KZbin videos.

I think he is from the Netherlands. The license plate format fits, and the land around the car is very flat which also makes sense. He has a Dutch accent, and the Dutch are the best linguists around so speak perfect English.

these cars should be almost silent. Is there a hole somewhere in the exhaust OR did some clueless person install "free flow" mufflers or some such non-sense? These cars should be seen and not heard! LOLOL
@sparcotiel
@sparcotiel 7 жыл бұрын
jake real yes you are right! keep in mind that this car is a "barn find" with factory mufflers on it. Standing in a shed for several years didn't do the exhaust much good.

Oh don't get me wrong it's a GORGEOUS survivor I was just wondering if it was in need of some exhaust work or someone took the incorrect route of making it noisy. Many think dropping these cars LOW, adding cherry bombs and 20s makes them cool! Well out of the factory these cars were PERFECTION! Every line and detail was thought out and placement of each trim piece had a purpose. The style didn't need to be "explained" like todays cars! LOL
