Yes. You just have to determine which seat you have now and get the adapter brackets to convert from that seat to the bucket seats. Classic Industries has the adapter brackets too.

I have a 68 also need the same brackets.. Once you changed the height was it enough? I currently have a bench seat so once I line the bolts up the 2 existing holes it should just line up to drill the second two? How far does the bucket go forward my wife is short and she has trouble with reaching on the current bench
@stevesgarage76443 жыл бұрын
Yep just mount the bracket on the 2 holes and drill the other 2. It goes forward quite a bit. She'll have no trouble at all.

Use a big screwdriver. Pry up on the spring arm and slip it on top of the roller. Insert the spring then pry the arm back over the roller. Works like a charm.

How did you get the kick panels out? A 70 SS is my first project car and im learning as i go but i cant seem to get them out
@stevesgarage76444 жыл бұрын
Well, that's an issue. I could get the left side out, but not the right. I think the right front fender has to come off to get to the vent assembly and I'm not doing that. So I will have to work around the vent there.
@209chevymon4 жыл бұрын
you can reach it from behind the blower motor hole on the firewall theres a pin and spring that holds it in but first you have to get a knife and cut the adhesive around the kickpanel from in inside the car then reach back through the hole behind the blower motor remove the pin and spring and it will come out

Can you compress door spring in vice & zip tie it until it’s installed. Then cut zippys? I’m brainstorming so bear with me...

That is a great concept. Zip ties wont hold that kind of pressure but I have some bailing wire that would. I'm going to try that. Thanks for the help!

Hi, I was looking through your videos and I was just wondering if you had to replace the head liner in your car? I have 74 nova, when I bought the car it didn’t have anything covering the foam. I want to get that covered up just not really sure how to go about it.
@stevesgarage76444 жыл бұрын
No I didn't have to replace mine. It looks like somebody did it already. I would think there are some KZbin videos out there, for Nova or Camaro, that might help though.

Yes. About 2 inches higher than stock seats. I had to cut and re-weld the mounting frames.

Where did you purchase the rails and brackets
@stevesgarage76445 жыл бұрын
The rails come with the seat itself, if you're meaning the adjuster rails to slide forward and backwards. The mounting bracket I bought from ClassicIndustries.com, same as the Pro-90 seats. They are for the conversion from bench to bucket. Hope that helps!

Compress the spring in a vice, use zip ties or baling wire to keep compressed, slip in place and then cut the zip ties or baling wire (try and tie on at least two sides of spring, four would be best) otherwise use a some kind of pry tool but that will cause scratching! Let me know how it works out for you.

I wish I had a large enough garage to work on my Nova during the winter. But it'll have to be wrapped up in a tarp over the winter sadly. I have a very small garage barely big enough for a small car to park and its too short for the Nova to fit. Its only good for half a car in and do small repairs. Lol
@stevesgarage76444 жыл бұрын
Trust me. I am soooo blessed to have the garage I do. I look at it in disbelief sometimes. It's been a life dream. I had to build it all myself with my two hands to keep the cost down. But work with what you have. Get one of those kerosene heaters to blast at you to make it work!

@stevesgarage76443 жыл бұрын
The duct foil worked perfectly. I would definitely use it again. Saved me lots of $$$$$. The carpet comes pre-molded so it was just lay it in there and attach the moldings. For the shifter I used a heat gun to relax the housing area a bit, although it didn't flatten it out as much as I wanted. One day I may come back to it and make it look a bit better.
