I was just showing a person the car today and I told him that the best part of the car is the headlights, such an amazing style grill.

I love Imperials and breaks the heart to see those out there like that especially the LeBaron one. Beautiful car youve got there and Im a Ford guy. Got an 73 T-Bird. Black over burgundy. Early 70s luxury coupes nothing else like them. Thank you Sir great vid. If that is ever for sale please contact me again thank you

The interesting thing about C body Plymouth's is that each year they were unique in styling for 1 model year.
@OsbornTramain

yep, that was the tradition up until 1974 for most manufacturers. Ford and Chevy followed the same pattern, a new style every year from the 1953ish and up till the mid 1970's

That's a great car...it will be well worth the effort. My pulse quickens a bit when I see early 70s fuselage Mopars....especially Plymouth and Imperial.

Even as a kid in the 1970's I always loved riding in c body's. I have never seen this confirmed but I think the c's had the widest brake pedals and widest interior rear-view mirrors of any production cars. As a southwesterner it is painful to see those old barges rusting in the snow.

I don't know if you've got everything since you posted this video, but if not, keep working on it. Buy NOS online if you have to. That's what I'd do if I had something like this.

Sadly, the lot went to auction in September 2021, they did an online auction first for every car and then a guy came in and bought the rest to crush. I didn't hear about the auction until after it happened and missed out. I did get into the yard in November 2021 and got a bunch of stuff I needed, but sadly, it's gone now 2022...all of it crushed.

I sold this car about 2 years ago. Sadly, it left the USA and is now in Germany. I'm hoping and praying that the guy keeps it original and doesn't hotrod it.

Wow, a '72 Plymouth! A well equipped one at that, complete with that famous tape recorder/cassette player. How many do you see these days? And the car is complete, mostly everything is all there and it can be easily restored.

1972 pretty much marked the end of the land yachts. A few of them lingered well into the late 90s and early 2000s, but they did not sell well and were a bit of an oddity. The discontinuance of the Crown Vic was the end of that. I get sentimental when I see one, but I'd never buy one again. A lot of things make me sentimental that I don't want back. Corded phones, rabbit ears, monochrome television,terrestrial radio, to name just a few.
@bradkay
@bradkay 4 жыл бұрын
The Crown Vic you refer to barely qualified as a mid size car by previous standards. And 72 wasn't the end of the big cars. The truly big Plymouths lasted through 77, Dodge, Chrysler, Ford, and Mercury through 78, and Lincoln through 79.

@@OsbornTramainin Longview, Tex ..paint is in fair condition - needs a good buffing - has been a while since I saw your original post about this car - how are things going with the restoration? this year model Fury is particularly special to me - my dad bought a new 72 Sport Suburban wagon in Sunfire Yellow/ black interior - took my driving test in it when I got my license at age 16 including parallel parking! - I later bought another one used that had been special ordered from our local dealer in Spinnaker White/blue interior with power windows and door locks, tilt steering wheel, power seat, dual air conditioning, premier wheel covers etc

Hi, I think I know the part you mean, and I don't know that it even has a name? I think it's called, "the plastic cover that lies on the front seat". Honestly, don't know the name......I can't look at mine, currently I'm in Virginia and my car is in Maine. the salvage yard in the film is in Maine, and yes, the car where the arm rests came out of was a 1973. I can't now help as I won't be in Maine until September. I will be going to that yard to get a few parts, I can look to see if it's in that car still and let you know.
