Great looking car, I am in awe, You see I love Vega's and have had several. I bought a 1971 panel right out of high school and still have it today. It looks very similar to yours although it is an original panel it does have a 1973 front bumper all-steel body with a 327/ Muncie and a 9" rear. Most recently I converted it to propane and installed a new aftermarket Muncie 4-speed transmission. Mine is Red as well and one thing I noticed that was similar was where you mounted your oil filter. My block is an early canister type oil filter and with the Hooker headers there was no room for the adapter and filter, So I put a remote on and located it very much like yours. I had a chance to buy a brand new 72 panel express for $3100 out the door in late 1976. I was around 20 years old and inherited $5000 from a deceased uncle. I put 50 1$00 bills in my pocket and went to Park Circle Chevrolet in Baltimore with the intention of ordering either a brand new Monza Town Coupe, black on black, with a 262/Turbo200, then drop a 350 LT1 and a Turbo400 and narrowed 12 bolt rear in it, or, a brand new Monte Carlo with a 454, 3 on the three, and then later swap out the 3 speed for a M22 rock crusher. As soon as I mentioned the Monza, the salesman took me back to the (freakin huge) shop area and over in one corner there was 4 or 5 cars sitting there with covers on them. One was a brand new, never titled, 1975 Chevy Monza "S-Coupe", 262 4-speed, no air. The "S-Coupe" version as far as I could tell was no different then the "2+2" version, other then the badging and the price was a tad bit lower then the 2+2. Here was a brand new 75 left-over, when the 77's were on the way to the dealerships. I ended up buying that Monza S Coupe for $4042 out the door. But here is the kicker. Parked right next to that Monza was a brand new, never titled, white 1971 Vega Panel Express with 3 on the floor, a black all vinyl drivers seat, no options what so ever, in fact, if you wanted a passenger seat, it was like a $43 option!!! To this day I wish I had bought that Vega instead of the Monza. I could have got it for like $3000, and then walked over to the parts counter and order a 400 small block and Turbo 400, (or M-22, lol!!!) Shoulda Coulda Woulda... Those were the days.

True old school, I am 62 so remember those conversions, motor sounds strong how does it go? 3.73 3nough gear for it in the 1/4 or you build for street too? I built a 67 RS Camaro Yenko clone in about 1975, 427/425 with 456 gears and a 4 speed, those 456 gears great in the 1/4 but street means all back roads

That's a wagon not a camback . Nice wagon none the less but definitely not a camback.a camback was the Vega with a trunk lid.

Plenty of Vega Kammbacks out there that are wagons, this is a panel. There may be others that have a trunk lid, but this is a Kammback. Just Google it... 😁

@@pupuslinger go look on the Chevy site you may be surprised like a Vega GT there was no Vega GTs there is an Astra GT but no Vega GT like there is no camback Vega wagon . There is also the old commercial that says what I'm saying as well then I also grew up in the seventies and seen all them Vega's in the show room . But google know best right lol. Look up Vega commercial on the same google that took you astray . Facts my friend facts .😎👍
