Hi, I love what you're doing with these old bikes. The dt2 looks fantastic and I'm looking forward to seeing the dt360 getting done. I have a 74 360 also that I will be restoring the first of the new year. Mine is in pretty bad shape, but it's a challenge. Keep up the great work, I love seeing young men restoring these old machines! Thanks for doing this, I'm really enjoying your work.

Thank you for watching and the kind words, Rich! I should be getting the DT360 frame back soon from my friend that’s fixing it up so pretty soon I can start back on that bike. How long have you had your 360? I think these era bikes are the best looking. Clean lines and pleasing to the eye.

I've had the 360 for probably 6 years and collecting parts for it since then. I just caught up with other projects this year so I'm starting it in January. This bike sat for 30 yrs in a dirt floor basement so the engine was rusted solid. Like I said before it's going to be a challenge.

Oh wow yeah, I’ll bet that will be! I haven’t had any bikes yet with a locked motor. I know at some point I’ll tackle one of those. How was the fuel tank? I know almost all the metal ones I’ve worked on had at least some form of rust to deal with.

If I remember correctly,I think the original tank was pretty decent inside but the outside was pretty dented up. I did source a couple more tanks for it though.

Great video and work as always, it does sound like the carb maybe in need of a little increase in idle while running engine on neutral…

Thanks, it’s def one of my favorites. Perfect lines and great colors. Then add in the sound and 2 stroke exhaust smell and it all goes together perfectly!

Great videos! I have a 1972 RT2 360 i found in a barn for $100. 2000 original miles on it. After sitting for 40 years it fired up with new fluids a battery and spark plug. My son and i are doing a frame off restoration on it as it is very dirty and rusty. The only thing we have left to do is rebuild the carb, then were ready to reassemble the bike. Just did the forks last week by coincidence. Check it out if you have a chance. Just subbed Keep up the great videos...

Thank you, I appreciate it! I’ll definitely check it out. I’m actually riding this bike right now as I type this! (Taking a break of course). The DT is an amazing trail machine. Over 50yrs old and it still delivers!

I was hoping to see where you plugged the two grounds from the rear turn signals into. Were there two female ground terminals to plug into or did you need a Y cable to hook into the two pronged connector that also feeds the tail light?

I just used a connector that allows me to bolt it to the frame to ground out. On other bikes there were wiring harness plugs that were for ground, but if I remember correctly, this one I just went to the frame.

hey there! I just subscribed! I have a 73 DT3 purchased in Nov 73 as a left over; picked it up in the first week of April $8350.00. I've watched several vids of yours. I am going to go through mine getting it ready for this summer. Can you tell me where you source your parts from? Do you know if the oil injectors can be rebuilt? Thanks in advance.

Hi Peter and thank you! I actually get most of my parts off eBay and swap meets or salvage yards. If you go on partzilla.com and find the original part numbers, you can plug those into eBay to find almost anything. Some things are priced crazy but some things aren’t so you gotta look thoroughly on there. If you have any swap meets near you or salvage yards those usually have the best and most fair prices. About the oil pump, I believe there are guys that have rebuilt them but I never have so. Might want to join a Yamaha DT Facebook group and post the question there. FB groups are a great spot for knowledge bases on these bikes too.

@@Garage2Trail Thank you for all of this info! Fortunately, my bike is intact though I would like to reseal the forks, freshen up the carb, a few gaskets here and there.. I am just so cautious, buying things that I am not sure is a true replacement. Thanks again for the direction.
