I just bought my friends LT100 that he bought new in 1972. It has been 100% restored. I Cant believe he sold it to me. Its mint. Such a cool bike.

My friend had one of those when we were 13. It was a step up from a mini bike. It was a real motorcycle.

Back in 72 I was 13 and I had saved 475 dollars from my paper route and my mom and dad gave me 100 bucks to buy this bike. I remember the day we got into our van and went to the Yamaha Dealer and picked up this bike. I got the exact same one as this one. It was green and everything right down to every nut and bolt. My best friend, who lived just 3 houses down, had a Honda 100 and we spent several years riding all over the country roads and around the city lake and all around town together. 3 or 4 years later I sold it and bought the 125 Yamaha Enduro which was red and white. Actually it was a much better bike than the 100cc green one but I will always have a special place in my heart for the green one. Those sure were wonderful times and sometimes I wish I could go back in time and have just one more day riding around my little town with my best friend. Of course that cannot happen and also he got prostate cancer and died a couple of years ago.

@@jlrutube1312 I bought one new too, except I was 14 and earned the money packaging cabinet installation hardware, and I made the move a couple years later to a 175. I still remember the day I walked into Stanley's Yamaha (old school bare bones dealership) and put the money down on the counter. Just watching this video I was fighting back tears, because it brought me back to those days and memories of my long departed uncle who would tear up the trails with me. Condolences on the loss of your friend.

This was my second trail bike. Next one was the same year 360, bought in 1973 as a group of crate damaged bikes. Found one with no damage and paid $800, brand new one year old bike. These are bulletproof bikes.

Just picked up a 68 yamaha YL2 trailmaster 100 a month ago, only 5100 miles 🤯. Just started restoring her, cant wait to ride!

I pulled all the lights, put a Preston Petty yellow front fender and pulled the spark arrester out, slapped a yellow number plate on it and flogged the crap out of it for years! It even survived a crash into the Salton Sea and was under for 2 hours and still came back to life with an entire can of WD-40 shot on it!

i had that same bike as a kid. didnt remember what year or kind. but new it had the same fenders. green and grey etc. it was a 100. and after a year or so randomly watching old enduro videos. this came up in my recommended videos and i was like oh god there it is. that is the one i had.

Great work on the bikes and museum. Love the videos. This bike was my first bike. Green and everything. Only thing I see is the handle bars were originally chrome. After this bike I got a 74 360 Enduro, wrecked and bent the handle bars. Stole the ones off my 100.

OMG OMG, thats it !!!!!! That is the very first bike I bought, paid for it in one summer cutting grass. Then I stripped everything off & turned it into my first motocross bike. Memories, ohhh my. Ha, it pulled my chubby ass up a lot of hills, lol Just a few words from an OldMan w/a Dog

These little things are a hoot! If its a reed engine, Id toss the OE steel reeds for some Boysen fiber reeds, otherwise, Id leave it be.

Steel reeds wil lunch the engine when they chip or break. Fiber reeds will just get blown through.

dude! that's one sweet lil machine.. my buddy has the exact same thing but is in no way that condition..hard to find parts for these things.. any info on where to find throttle cables? the one we have splits from throttle to carb to oil pump, it's pretty mangled.. any kind of help and info would be appreciated! ✌🤘🤙

Looking for some assistance in Identifying a Yamaha I had in 1978. It was Yellow Yamaha 100 (I believe) trail bike. YZ rings a bell but not sure, I'm pretty sure it was not an enduro. It had a "kick shift" lever that switched from low to high TQ. Any ideas would be appreciated.
