Even though I love the 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass (I've owned three of them), my next favorite Colonnade from that year was the Century/Luxus/Regal/Gran Sport. The body side sculpting was so cool as it mimicked the "sweepspear" look from the big Buicks of the '50s. The rear end was also very stylish, and I also liked the way the front bumper had what looked like tiny winglets on the sides for '73 only (they were gone in '74). One of my co-workers back in 1991-1992 owned a '73 Century 4-door which was his daily driver. Drove like a dream. Thanks for posting.

Since I first saw the car in 1972, I've always felt it was the best looking of all the Colonnade mid sized GM cars....the best looking of the lot.

Not ME! Watergate, energy crisis, Nixon ordering no Christmas lights, soldiers still being held in Vietnam, horrible polyester clothing understated with bell bottom pants, wide shirt and jacket lapels and ties wide enough to cover your entire chest! LOL! Nah...I'll take the 1980's! Best decade I lived through so far!

My grandmother and step grandfather BOTH bought one of these in '73. Hers was the sedan and his was the coupe. I remember my grandmother could never get hers running right! LOL! She would start it and as soon as the automatic choke would disengage, even in summer, it would stall. She would restart it, gun it over and over and same thing. It would happen half a dozen times before it would go. She took it back to the dealer several times who said they 'fixed' it but they didn't. Finally, she talked to the owner of the dealership who wouldn't do anything. It was funny because she used to yell at the car saying 'stinking rotten car!' LOL.

My dad had a ‘73 Luxus, I had a ‘73 Regal. Lots of power tucked into those midsize Buick A-bodies. 350 cu inch

The cars that the old GM got right! The 1973 - 1977 "Colonade" style mid-sizers, which gave birth to the Regal and made a winner out of Olds Cutlass Supreme. My favorite? The 1973 -1975 Pontiac Grand Am with its squeezable nose! Papa has spoken 🐇

Papa My grandfather had a '74 Chevy Monte Carlo. He bought it used from a Ford dealer's used car lot in the fall of '77 and owned it until the summer of '79, when he replaced it with a '77 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. That would be his last car.

Oh, I totally disagree, I think the 73 was the best and most pure form of all the GM colonades from 1973 thru 1977.....This was the height of the style and then got watered down over the years.

+OsbornTramain LOL Just goes to show your extremely poor taste in style of the 1973-'77 Buick Regal coupe. LITERALLY during that half-decade era, the newer the vehicle, the better looking those cars appeared. ESPECIALLY with the brand new 1976-'77 quad rectangular headlamps added. Then a fatter, upgraded grille for the 1977 Buick Regal coupe. The 1973 Regal coupe was the original (and "pure"), but the 1977 Buick Regal coupe was FAR better looking all around, from ANY angle... inside and outside, handsdown.

Normally, I would delete your comment and block you, but I'll let it stand. I don't believe I have poor taste in autos, have some recognized beauties in my personal collection..... Styling is based on peoples tastes and is purely opinion nobody is right or wrong....only facts like sales figures can show how people thought in the day..... I love the 73. and frankly, so did the public. 300,000 people liked the Century/Regal and Luxus enough to buy it. The quad headlamps suck in 75 and up. Literally ruined the look of the car. taking a car with curves from the start and grafting on lines and rectangular objects ruined the look. @@Ms_Charlotte_S I totally concur. So many people I know loved the looks of the 1977 Buick Regal 2dr. And that front end has a style that is far more sophisticated than the 1973-75 Regal. The 77 Regal was second only to Cadillac in style (when it comes to the 1973_77 GM colonnades).

@OsbornTramain Hey, why don't we all just huddle up, and forget our different opinions, and just form our '1973 through 1977 Buick Century/Regal club', and just agree that this GM platform is one of the greatest things to have ever happen to the auto industry. I love all Buick Regals btwn 1973 and 1977 two-doors. They are certainly better than what's rolling off the assembly lines here in 2018-2019. Surely you all can agree with me on this (hopefully?). Chances are that was one of the early V6 cars..they were crap. .All of the V8 century cars were awesome, I have never heard anyone say a 350 or 455 Century was a bad car.

@@gt-37guy6 ....I drive a 2017 Chevy Impala Premier with the 3600 V6. It has all the electronic gadgets and just turned 60,000 miles and never had a single problem. Lots of power performance smooth quiet comfortable 29 MPG on highway. Sadly they stopped making them because of poor sales. When friends and family ride in it always act surprised what a great sedan it is but would never considered buying one because they thought they were inferior from the media's hatred of American vehicles.
