Great video. It reminds me of when I was a kid riding in the passenger side of my dad's old 74 Ford F250 looking out at the Nevada desert and always looking for what was over the hill. I will find one like dad's one day fix it up, and give it to my son. Great trucks never die, they just fade away.

Jim, I've seen this before but I've just re-watched it as Nick and I are desperate for a Ford Bronco. To me, this video encapsulates everything that you are. I love that you just went balls to the wind and said yeah, fuck it, why not drive to Sweden to pick up a car. Nick & I are always far too cautious about everything but I love that you just bloody went for it. x

I bought a 1975 Ford F-100 from a real estate auction for £75. With £100 worth of parts, I got it running and drove it for two years while I was in hard times financially. When things stabilised, I passed the old F-100 to the next person down on their luck. The price I asked for the old pickup truck was for him to pass it to the next needy person when he stabilised. Four years ago, the old F-100 was still running and on its fourth owner since I started the hard luck F-100 chain. I hope it is still running today, still helping people.

Hi Jimmy. I just bought a beautiful 1973 Ford F100. I had to drive 200 miles one way (not as far as you had to go :-) ) to get it. My friend drove my other car home following me all the way. Everything you say about this beautiful model year pickup is true. I just want to get in and drive just to drive!! OK, so there is a bit of showing off too. Great video. Donald.

A great truck, a great story and great road-trip. And a beautiful film too. (I've taken a few style tips to recycle later in my own films!) You are right, Jimmy, great cars (& trucks) are about living life and making Epic Journeys. They are not for keeping polished & hidden away in the garage. And with a truck like this, EVERY journey can be epic. And while we are talking Epic, please let's see a film on the old W123 wagon.

Here in California, people are psycho about trucks like this one. I see many old Ford, Dodge, and Chevy trucks. I am getting addicted to them. I am debating if I should buy Ford Ranger or Dodge Dakota.
