Thomas Raudonikis. Didn't know he was from this decade: says Manly supporter here. Wonderful to see this historic footage. Love the Rugby League 70-90's. Post 2000 they are just too fit, too much smarter. The new 2000+ guys would steam roll all these wonderful players. In this clip we see that they were just magnificent amateurs. Today's Sydney players are hardened professionals. I liked the before times but I am old. Todays crop are fantastic!

Thanks Eric, I love these old rugby-league matches. I love the feeling of nostalgia, I deplore many of the modern rule changes. I used to love contested scrums, for example, I used to love reading the scrum counts

@@CosmicEnergy-b7y nothing to see scrum counts of 17 to 11 and probably another 10 or so resulting in penalties

In what way is the BBC rugby league hating? It’s maybe of no account in your small world but I love League and I’ve lived almost all my life in Scotland. Without the BBC I would scarcely have known the game existed. Eddie Waring accompanied my upbringing but it was the Floodlit weekday nights and the Challenge Cup that drew me in. I’ve honestly no idea what your gripe is.

Usual dreadful camera work from the rugby league hating BBC.
