I grew up in Avenal California, which was one of the best ridding area's anywhere, as a kid on my XR 75 I got to see many bike's like this in action, now days with the internet I get to learn the history of great bike's like Bultaco, montessa, Maico and Husqavarna, all of which I considered exotic at that time, now I wish I was wealthy so I could collect them all and start my own motocycle museum, I would really like to share my love for motorcycle's with others and pass along the great history of these amazing machine's....

Bill is awesome. He gave me a tour of the museum when I stopped by unannounced. He was busy but he took the time show me and chat when he didn't have to, but he did. All of your guys are good guys, true motorcycle guys, very respectful and full of integrity.

I had a 72’ 250 Alpina, bought it brand spanking new off the showroom floor when I was only 13 years old, got it right after I moved to Hawaii with my family and this bike was made for the rainforests and jungles on Kauai. I took it places where my dad and friends on Mx bikes couldn’t go. We moved back to California after five years and it sat in storage for about a year and a half I put gas in it and it started after the second kick. I sure wish I still had it!

I remember about a year and a half ago you guys had run across a shop full of European trials bikes enduros and motocrossers. One of them was an early Bultaco 66 67 I think it was a 250cc and it was called an "acorn head". Super rare super desirable. Bull Taco always made a really great bike up until about 1982.

I Had a Bultaco Sherpa for a short while in 1985 great bike over the hills..not in that condition mind you but still a real blast.
@skeggjoldgunnr3167 Жыл бұрын
This bike is FAR from being near Bultaco's first over 300cc single two stroke motors. For instance, I had a 1974 El Montedero 370. She had a mean top-end now let me tell YOU! I think it was specific to be an ice racer. I hit the trails with it, gunned it on hard packed clay rich dirt and it dug at LEAST an eighth mile long trench that showed all shift points, slinging a rooster tail of dirt the whole time, ripping tree roots and such. She loved to scream WOT. Hated everything else, stock factory expansion chamber went straight down and bellied-out later in the flow.

I live in Spain, a friend of mine has that exact bike and still rides it regularly. The right side shifting can be a bit confusing at times but it is still a fun trail bike.

I had one for several years back in the day. This was the ultimate trail bike. Gear it down a tooth or two and it would climb trees. I modded the front end by replacing the forks and triple clamps from a Pursang, and added some decent shocks, used Blendzall synthetic and never fouled a plug. This motor was never peaky and low end torque is amazing. After the mods, I could cruise down the fire roads all day then hit the tight technical stuff with my Sherpa buddies. After the two dealerships that handled parts for Bultaco went bye bye, and the transmission started to wear, I had to move on. What a shame.

I had an Alpina 350 with the chrome fenders. Mine weren't in nearly as good of shape tho... I got it from a mechanic who took it in on trade from someone who couldn't pay their shop bill. I think I gave him $300 for it in 1995. Sold it a few years later to buy a KLR650, but wish I hadn't.

when you die and if you've been a good boy you will go to heaven and one of these will be waiting for you with your name on registration plate, and there will be nobody shouting "YOU CAN'T RIDE THAT HERE, THIS IS A FOOTPATH FOR DOG WALKERS NOT MOTORBIKES". . instead, you will hear "that's a lovley bike are you having fun, I wish I had one just like it, have a nice day" yip you've arrived at the right place. . .
