The manufacturer would sell the car as a kit or completed, as such it was considered a "production" vehicle. In 1979 there was one with a 700hp 454 Chevy that was the first ever production care of any kind to break 200 mph as noted below.

Mid Engineering made the V8 tube chassis for kelmark there was one built that did 206 mph
