Brought back memories for me. Had a ‘74 in Fire Coral Brown with tan interior from 1977-1979. At the time I worked for Pioneer Stereos and put the most killer sound system you could at the time. Dated my now wife of 37 years in that beast. If hadn’t just bought a 1988 Porsche Carrera and drive the 30 minutes to see it.

Super Clean Grand Am. Really nice example. My first car was white with blue corduroy interior 1975 Grand Am. It was my mom's ex car. It also had the 455 4 barrel. Super fun car and was really quick compared to the lame late 70's - early 80's cars on the road when I drove it around 1981-1982. We could pretty much outrun most everything at the stop light grand prix...

Damn, I do not like the exhaust tips the way they are. They look way better tucked up under the rear bumper with that beveled edge. It's way too in your face and I'd even call it homemade looking. Otherwise I really like the car! There was also a model called a Can Am. I've only seen them in white with orange letting on the sides, front, rear... Although I'm pretty sure they encompassed a few years as I do remember them with square and round headlamps which would mean '73 (the easiest to ID), '74, '75, '76 & '77... Anywho, yeah this Grand Am is nice. Being it's not a new restore and the car is used as opposed to sitting there, I'd hope this goes somewhere mid-30s... Bet they're looking for more though... Wow, I was wrong, they're asking 25,900. Got a leaking exhaust manifold or it's cracked I guess. Not bad though, I still like it, needs work...

This is the first one I've seen on this channel that seems to have several issues. The engine is knocking, lights are out, pieces missing. Sorry, but the price is way too high.
@JohnDoe-wy2py3 жыл бұрын
I agree, the car has a *plethora of issues* and the price is *way too high.* Sadly, *someone will pay the asking price or close to it.* I suspect *that knocking noise is more than an exhaust leak.*
@unowen-nh9ov3 жыл бұрын
You guys are wrong, this thing is a unicorn with under 100k miles, biggest V8 (I believe), what looks to be excellent original interior & various minor issues that are easy to deal with or drivable as is. Hemmings auctioned a Grand Prix, same year & engine, for $5k more. This model is much more rare, so comparisons are moot. Speaking from experience with a 1974 BMW Bavaria sedan, dickering just means you'll lose out.

@@unowen-nh9ov *IMHO* VOLO almost always presents cars for sale that are the cream of the crop, cars that are well-sorted and without any major issues. Just *a bit surprised* that they have this car for sale that obviously needs some major $$$ spent to make it presentable. If the knocking noise is just an exhaust leak, *why didn't they have one of their mechanics address it?*
@JohnDoe-wy2py3 жыл бұрын
@@unowen-nh9ov If you think we are being too harsh about the car, *you should look at Hagerty's valuation of 1974 Grand Am's.* But at the end of the day *the car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.* The 455 V8 does make it somewhat a *rare car.* My opinions are just that and you know what they say about opinions, *everyone has one.*

Understandable. Our mechanics are primarily focusing on making sure the outgoing vehicles that have been sold are all ready & set to go. This vehicle will get its turn & any prospective buyer could certainly express those concerns with the salesman before buying. We are also in the middle of some expanding that might help expand our ability to service more vehicles. Maybe we can do a community page post about it coming soon. 🤔

An absolute rarity. I got the same car for partially nothing in 1984. Being 24 years old I didn’t really inspect it. I discovered the trunk lid almost completely rusted out, a huge hole in the pan and the brackets holding the rear axle rotting. The inside of the doors were rusted as well as fit and finish on this model was awful. I sold 3 months later as I was scared to dive it. The engine was constantly out of timing no matter what you did.

I would *be surprised if Volo has more than $3500 in the car.* They have some beautiful and very unique cars in their inventory but *without fail they always seem to be over-priced.* In a couple of weeks I will receive my inheritance that will be in the seven figures and *the first thing I had planned on doing was paying Volo a visit to see if they have a Camaro convertible from the 1960's.* It seems that the ones they have are at least 15k more than a similar car would have been a year ago. I guess I will look for *a Terminator Cobra, 2003-2004, they are going up in price but can still be bought relatively reasonably.*
@hwy95713 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe-wy2py I would suggest 68-72’ Chevelle SS or stock Convertible. Generally there is low rust to these cars and less mileage on the odometer. They are much more comfortable especially driving to meets. Good luck.
@VoloMuseumAutoSales3 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe-wy2py Hey John, appreciate the compliments & thanks for being a fan. I'd like to try to clarify our stance on a few of your critiques. We have well more than $3,500 in this car. About being over-priced, we really do feel our vehicles are priced competitively for the market. Last month we sold over 70 vehicles, which is almost half our inventory in a single month!! If we were truly overpriced and the buyers weren't buying at that price, we would be out of business or reducing the prices. The buyers set the market and ultimately decide the value. Price have certainly gone up and the last two years are no exception, I'm not sure about $15k but a couple thousand, sure. If we can help make that happen, let us know. But, regardless of where you get your dream car John, we hope you enjoy the heck out of it. Blast some tunes! Go to a cruise night! Take it to dinner. Enjoy it man!!

@@VoloMuseumAutoSales Thanks for your response. You are correct in that I am a huge fan of the quality, unique cars that you always have. And I totally get the fact that the cars are worth what the buyer is willing to pay for them. I have watched your videos / website for several years now and I think Volo has the nicest cars of any of the classic car dealerships. I'm sorry if I might have sounded like I was personally attacking Volo, the first thing I do when I sign on is to see if you have dropped a new video. And who knows, in a few weeks I might be contacting you looking for a 68-69 Camaro convertible. Thanks for all that you do.

@@hwy9571 Those are nice cars, my uncle has a 67 SS 396 Chevelle that he has owned for 42 years. He currently has a 427 engine with a 5 speed transmission in it. Wrong, this is the last of glory days Detroit, soon emissions, safety, insurance & OPEC would end it. This is a variation on the GTO platform, bigger than fastback Firebird but smaller than Grand Prix. Sedan was gorgeous with unique honeycomb alloys & mahogany dash, was sold as tuned American muscle alternative to best of Europe. Soon it would be downsized & no more V8, very rare car.

Shows *97,110 on the odometer.* Must have either been *hard miles, or the odometer has rolled over and it's 197,110, or given the quality of GM cars of that era, it is on its last legs.* Or it might be *a combination of all three.* One of my *ex-wives had one of these and something was always wrong with it.*
