@@markbagley2717Tofiq Bahramov - aka the Russian Linesman was in fact from Soviet Azerbaijan. Today the Azeri national football stadium bears his name. The indirect free kick given at 4:07 on Hector - you never see those these days why? The offside goal did not look offside. No mention of the George hat-trick at the commentary until 10 seconds after he scored it. Less emphasis on them those days I assume. Nowadays we have the “assist” shown on all stats - what is all that about?
@dsj823 жыл бұрын
I have thought about that too. Weren't thoes freekicks back then given, if the foul was made inside the penalty box, but with no direct chance of scoring?. They should really need to bring thoes freekicks back given these VAR times. A non intentuell hand ball for example, should release a indirect freekick inside the box instead of a penalty kick and everybody is HAPPY.

The Madrid goal that was disallowed for offside that would have brought it back to 3-2 was about 12 feet onside

Franny Lee. The only guy to fell Norman "bite ya legs" Hunter!

I love Franny but I think he took a bit of a dive! But what a player!
@portcullis56223 жыл бұрын
That dive was his trademark! The infamous fight he had with Norman Hunter was triggered by an outrageous dive to win a penalty earlier in the match.

Hilarious...the 2nd Real goal was totally ONside!
@sunsetblue17598 жыл бұрын
Yes - but remember 2 differences to the rules back then - 1. Level was OFFSide. today level is ONside. 2. A player did not have to be interferring with play to be offside. So the other Real player was further forwards and could have been the offside player. But yes, at 7:17:75-ish, it's close, but onside.

José Antonio Ruiz Reina if that game had ended 3-2 or even 2-2 I would have been happy. But when Derby played Juventus in 1973, there was probable match fixing that went against Derby. Derby have passionate supporters. But we are a small club and rarely play in international games. So I will accept and good fortune.
