My first absolutely enjoyable world series. Tiant in game 4 greatest performance under pressure I have seen. It is a pleasure to watch these games even 43 years later. Awesome!

Red Sox really blew that critical game 2.

I've been friends with Billy Lee for years, and it still bothers him that no one bothered to tell him that Bench told the entire planet that he was going to try to take Lee to the opposite field when interviewed during the rain delay.

Yeah, but his defense was playing Bench to pull. So why did he throw a pitch away to Bench? It's Lee's own fault.

51:26 Curt Gowdy & Marty Brennaman.

I am not a fan of either team. Just think, the Red Sox were one out away from a win in this game and a 2 games to none lead in the Series. Maybe history is different if the Reds would have had to win 4 of the last 5 games?

The entire World Series broadcast team was reminiscent of the baseball game in "The Naked Gun" movie: GAME 1: Curt Gowdy, Tony Kubek and Dick Stockton on TV, Joe Garagiola and Marty Brennaman on radio. GAME 2: Joe Garagiola, Kubek and Ned Martin on TV; Gowdy and Brennaman on radio. GAME 3 AND 5: Gowdy, Kubek and Brennaman on TV; Garagiola and Martin on radio. GAME 4: Garagiola, Kubek and Brennaman on TV; Gowdy and Stockton on radio. GAME 6: Garagiola, Kubek and Stockton on TV; Gowdy, Brennaman and Martin (after Brennaman left for the Reds clubhouse) on radio. GAME 7: Gowdy, Kubek and Martin on TV; Garagiola, Brennaman and Stockton on radio. It's possible that in the entire history of broadcasting there has never been this complicated an announcer schedule.

The largest broadcast booth in the history of the World Series. 6 announcers calling the 7 games on television, 5 announcers calling the 7 games on radio.

in those days the national broadcasts (namely NBC) had the local announcers of the clubs involved take part . Should do that today! instead of boring ass Joe Buck.

without stupid baserunning mistakes Sox would have won this game
