Not great quality - best I know of at this point. Hope you enjoy this really old ABC Monday Night Baseball broadcast

Last year the Pirates had the old uniforms, and went with the Gold, penstripe and black jerseys.

The mix-and-match uniforms were my favorite Pirate uniforms, followed closely by their 1970-76 unis.

This was the regional/backup telecast; I think the Red Sox and the Yankees was the primary game. When it got to the 9th, the main telecast switched to this one. Bob Gibson pitched the only other no-hitter at Three Rivers Stadium, five years earlier. My parents and I were at this game, down the right field line in Box 2, Row A, seats 1-3. The tickets were $5 each. About 5,000 Clark candy bars were given to fans because Candy Man was pitching. I remember having a clear view of the Pirate bullpen and seeing Bob Moose there; he pitched the next night, and was killed in a car accident two months later, on his 29th birthday. Bill Buckner struck out in the 3rd inning after leaving the game; he injured himself on the second strike, and Lee Lacy pinch hit for him and took a third strike, but it was charged to Buckner.

Wow, so things were no different back then. Yanks/Red Sox were always on and always took preference over anything else.

@@orbyfan, ABC took it over after ‘74, not ‘75..1975 was year one for ABC.

If Pittsburgh hadn't let zisk and Al Oliver go after the season..they would have dominated baseball for years to come... worse mistake in pirate history...the 1976 line up was a murderers row...as a reds fan ..I feared the pirates line up more than any other team....
@howardcosell20223 жыл бұрын
The Bucs were going to lose them via free agency as they did Richie Hebner who played solidly for their nemesis in Philadelphia. In return for Zisk, Forster and Gossage helped in the bullpen for a season before they went during free agency. Dividends were paid off with Oliver when Milner and Blyleven came to Pittsburgh helping them win in 79
