This show was sportscenter before ESPN existed. You got more info from just about every sport in 30 minutes than you do today in 3 hours from the bozos at ESPN. RIP Phyllis & Irv

Good to see Buffalo's own Don Criqui (I loved it when he teamed with Bob Trumpy, since I thought it was fun when he introduced their names together). He looks no different here than he did when I first found out about him in 1991. And look, it's Sonny Jurgensen, another fella who's hung in for a long time, be it as a pro player, announcer, and in life itself. Great to see for them, and this here is great to see!

The barrel throated and steady voice of Chiqui at the mike always brought the listener along gracefully.

I believe this is the only existing videotape footage of the '76 Seahawks. There's a lot of film, but no videotape. I've been searching for it for years.

Lol at 1:01. There were so many Jurgenson stories locally. Calling the game on WMAL radio with Herzog and Huff, he described an official’s reviewing an instant replay to make a ruling on a play in the early days of the now standard practice. “The official is down there looking at dirty pictures,” Sonny teased, as we all waited for the official to determine the outcome of a questionable play. A lady at work told us that Sonny was getting bad about calling at the house. When her father intercepted a Jurgenson call for her sister, he told Jurgenson, “I thought you were married!”

If they ever made a docudrama about this magical time in sports television (whether it be a movie or a limited series [I'd like for it to be a limited series on Netflix or Hulu]), I'd definitely like for Joey King to be Phyllis George, and Russell Crowe to be Jimmy The Greek; I don't know who would best play Irv Cross or Brent Musburger, though.

It's 'Tonny' Jurgensen, according to Norm Crosby. Many years before this Brent was a minor league umpire, but has a hard time reading baseball scores. @ 1:01 - a streaker without an audience to show off his shortcomings. Was that the only time Walter Payton was stopped for a safety? It WAS a long, dreary year for the Gi-ants. @ 14:07 the REAL Vince Papale TD, not what was in the movie. Bad chroma-key of Criqui makes him look like a faded snapshot and the background shots with a floating fabric behind his head is a bad look overall.
