1976, my last in Drum Corps, BD was hot! I marched 73 Commodores , Bonnie Ott, Jim Ott our horn instructor/arranger. 74 Commodore/Roylaires merger was succesful as many people from that merger went on to BD, SCV. RIP Dave Duggan

1976 Blue Devils 1st place score 92.700 repertoire - Channel One Suite * Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor * Chase the Clouds Away BD played Channel One Suite 76,77,86, and 2002 . They played Legend of the One Eyed Sailor in 74, 75, 76 and 78.

This is indeed 1976. The last two charts are "Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor" and "Chase The Clouds Away" which were played in '76.

End the debate. This is ‘76. I had a cassette recording of all DCI ‘76-78 shows and listened to them hundreds of times. This is the repertoire for ‘76 and I can sing Bonnie Ott’s Mello solo in Legend verbatim.

Yeah, recording is Stillwater MN ‘76. The announcer is unmistakable. Pictures are ‘79-‘81.

This was in 1979 or 80 in Birmingham. We learned that these guys were huge Blue Devils fans and had come from Japan to watch us rehearse at Huffman High School. While they didn't seem to speak any english, we knew they loved the corps and the activity. Now that's what I call true fans! Kinda random that they decided to play the '76 Drum Beauty recording while showing images of the 80 corps. The mind blurs I guess.
