Sounds amazing!! Did you have to get a sway bar to keep the buckling and swaying from interfering with burnouts also?
@thefuzz8311 ай бұрын
Thank you. Swaybars front and rear but their intended purpose isn't for helping with the stability of burnouts. Although they do help with keeping the truck "flat" during drifts.
@gmcalltheway11 ай бұрын
Yes I found myself almost wrecked doing a drift going up and around a circle on ramp and my truck buckled. I installed a swaybar on the front and it then handled any drift I could dish out and handled better around corners than any vehicle I've owned since. An absolute must in my book 😊 Your truck does sound incredible and I love the fact that it's still a stick. Don't see that very much anymore.

@@gmcalltheway haaa, thanks again. The truck was originally an automatic. A lot of fab work was done to outfit it with the Bowler Built T-56. More can be viewed @lil_blue_square

Absolutely 👍🏻 Makes me miss my 65 GMC. I'll be sure to check out the other videos! Excellent job overall and yeah I'm sure there was a fabricated crossbar probably needed for that transmission but perfect pair! If I ever get another truck I'll be sure to get that transmission. Sure beats a 3 speed shifter with granny gear 🤣

Nice setup, have you changed anything since you posted this video? What gears are you running in the rear? I'm thinking about swapping the 4 speed behind my 454 with a Magnum 6 speed, do you have any advice or suggestions? Maybe something you would have done differently? Thanks for sharing!
@thefuzz83 Жыл бұрын
I'm running 4:10s and its really fun to drive but it really should have 3:70s.The Magnum is a really big transmission so you may need to do some tunnel work to get your driveline proper.

Sounds like you have a bad input shaft bearing or possibly another bearing but I’d go thru it soon before the bearing locks up and spins but it sure it’d be pretty noise by then

Everything has recently been rebuilt. Tremec's answer is "they're just loud and noisey." Only does it at certain throttle positions in 4th-6th. It's been very frustrating.

@port nut no part is touching the trans tunnel. The first thing I did after aquiring this truck was cut it up and fab a trans tunnel. All can be found on the IG @lil_blue_square. I love the motor. Do you have a twin disk clutch by chance? That chattering sound you get (probably only at very specific RPM's in certain gears) is a familiar sounds to me. Had a TREMEC TKX 5 speed and it never made that funny sound till I put a twin disk clutch in it. Called Tremec and they said something along the lines of "these trannies are designed with single disk clutches in mind, not twin." I also called McLeod and they said that the sound is simply a characteristic of a twin disk clutch. Any insight on your end as to what exactly that is? I was told just not to worry about it, but still...hard not to when that just doesn't sound like a heathy noise. And you spend all this time and money on expensive parts, you kind of expect perfect. Maybe that's just me
@thefuzz83 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for reaching out Joseph. I'm running a Centerforce Dyad double disc clutch. The sound drives me nuts. Sent the tranny off to Bowler to be rebuilt and upgraded with only 5k on it and they said it was quiter than the average build, according to the decibal meter. Never really got any kind of explanation, even after sharing videos of the noise. I'm not sure who makes a single disc clutch that's going to hold up to 750-800 ft/lbs of torque.
@Joebro200 Жыл бұрын
@@thefuzz83 @Ryan Gordon Check out McLeod. They are the leader in the clutch world. I would give them a call and tell them you're interested in a single disk clutch that can hold that kind of power, or close to it, and also be as light as possible. Super good customer service. I would also fill them in on why you don't want their twin disk cause they will tell you right away to get that. cause it holds a bunch of power and is super light. I'm building a 67 short bed fleet side c10 right now. Truck is done, now I'm on to the drive train. Building either a 496 or a 540 just depends on weather I can get my hands on a good gen 4 block or find a 502 gen 6 block. With that I'm wanting 700TQ and 650ishHP. With my history of having this same issue, I'm gonna just get whatever the strongest single disk clutch McLeod makes (unless they tell me its not a streetable clutch at all.) This sound also drove me crazy....now that I think about it I believe a customer service guy at McLeod told me the sound comes from these twin disk clutches not having clutch springs. For whatever reason that makes them make this god awful vibration at certain RPM. for me it was 4th gear (my 1-1 gear) and it howled terribly at about 2500-4000 RPM.
