A classic Black exterior and leather Black interior is the most suitable way to go with this T-Bird and a big 460ci V8 under the hood. This is a one owner car bought here in Michigan off Woodward Ave and the body is completely original, there is also an original window sticker to go along with it as well as service reports. All stock car and has power disk front brakes, power windows, A/C, power steering, power locks, and a working heater. 1976 was the last model year for the sixth generation. Some items that were standard in 1975 were moved to the options list. Some items returning to the option list included, AM/FM stereo, front cornering lights, and tinted glass. Additionally the rear windows became stationary. This move was to keep cost down and was also shared by the 1976 Mark IV. The 1976 luxury groups were crème and gold, lipstick, and Bordeaux. New options included driver's lighted vanity mirror, power lumbar drivers seat, AM/FM stereo search radio, and AM/FM stereo radio with Quadra sonic 8-track tape player. An auto dimmer was added to the autolamp option. Base price was $7,790 with a total of 52,935 cars produced.

When my Mother died I inherited her '76 T-Bird. Bronze Age paint, every option, 460 4V automatic. Land yacht for sure. Rusted out, wouldn't pass inspection, It's long gone.

I like this generation T bird because it was the most luxurious of the series i feel like I am in a 70s Quinn Martin detective series with automobiles furnished by Ford marketing of Ford Motor Company

Of course you do, we all do. And what a great place to be. Here we are in 2023 and I want one of these "Luxobirds" really bad. Every time I see one I just stare and drool. 74-76, black with black leather. A huge 460 under the hood and 8 to 10 mpg. But I can't stop thinking about them. And, I know from my past, when that happens, it's just a matter of time. So elegant, so beautiful, so 70s and so unnecessary, but that doesn't matter.

Delivered kirby's all over west coast in the black 76 TBird. Warm in the northwest even cloudy days the UV baked the car in warmth and was always the coolest sleekest and it had the 429 I believe. I was a shark and this was a sharks car. Miss it

To begin, I know the Lincoln Marks and Ford Thunderbirds share the same frame. It can be seen in other design features that both cars share a lot with each other. The Ford Thunderbird started out as a small 2 seater PLC which is another one of Ford's creatations. At an industry glance, Ford has had a major influence on the entire automotive industry. Ford literally built the American auto industry, which has gone onto include the auto industry on a global level. The Thunderbird has, at one point or another has represented every category of cars. One of if not the only car to do that. No matter what category the Thunderbird played in, it has been one of the top cars in the category it's self. A real force to be recognized. So to say any one category the Thunderbird happens to be playing in at times was completely different than the category it played in prior, or the next one in it's future. That said, there's nothing that can top the first generation it is playing in. The 1957 is a fantastic 2 seater, PLC. Then came the 4 seater box bird in 58, defined an outsold that category. The bullet birds of the early 60s. The 64s did it again. As did the 67s through the 71s. When the 74s came out, they were criticized for being to big, the Thunderbird has lost it's way. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, it was big. Yes, it looked nothing like its predecessor, but it's a Thunderbird, it doesn't have to. The 74 and the following model years reinvented it's self and the PLC it created, and in my opinion, it did so with an excellent example of the PLC. It was big, beautiful, elegant, and captured the heritage of all the luxury cars from every manufacturer, the world over. It's lines are completely connected from front to rear. It was gorgeous but not gaudy, the front was highly detailed, the quad round headlights highlighted with thick rectangle chrome bezels, the long hood and low roof profile and sharp C pillar windows, including the vinyl roof that leads to the classic, short rear deck lid, that terminates at the full width sectioned taillights creating chrome squares is, again, just gorgeous. And yet it shared all of the Mark lVs design, but its detailed features look nothing like its upscale cousin. Everything flowed perfectly, including the polished aluminum wheels with red center caps that highlighted the wheels with smooth and simple style. It's looks were totally consistent with the mid-70s Fords, that I happened to really like. If you have ever seen one in Ravin Black with black leather interior, you know exactly what I'm talking about. At that point in time I was in my late 20s, and had already started building my stable of my favorite Fords. I tried really hard to justify adding one of these big luxurious Thunderbirds to my collection, but I was running out of room to keep it in, so I never had one. And besides, I was also in love with the 74 Mark lVs. So even if I did have room, it would have been a tough decision to make. So you know what that meant, that's right, I would have had to have both of them. In summary, each generation of the Thunderbirds stood on their own. And that's justication to love them all. I even liked the unpopular 1980 model year. I maybe the only one that did.

Robb Rogers the high trim model had the nice wheels, the lower trim one has the hubcaps. My 76 has these hubcaps too

All wheels and wheel covers were optional on the base model. Wires were an option pn these, full wheel covers would have made the car look more grounded.

The most beautiful of this series was the 1973, which had the wall to wall tail lamp. I had one in white, and one in sapphire blue.
