Get a Birth certificate from Classic Volkswagen parts. Only takes a few weeks to arrive. Always great to discover the history. Good luck with the restoration

I also have a 2.0l type 4 engine in my bus. The thing I noticed which is critical to cooling is the rhs tinware is missing underneath from the exhaust heat exchanger to the crank case. Really important that otherwise the engine doesn’t cool properly and cooks itself. Good project. I’m prepared to be very impressed if you do it in the timescale you’ve mentioned. The tend to be onions of problems. You remove one layer and find another. Etc. best of luck.

You have a Devon Moonraker. 2 litre type 4 with twin 34mm carburettor. A lovely van. The original covers orange and brown tartan on the roof beds. If you get matching covers for the roof beds to match the blue and cream then I would buy the brown tartan covers off you. The Devon conversions were built in Sidmouth, Devon. If you look behind the passenger seat you may find an original plate with the paint codes. It would have been white top half with either green, orange, beige lower half. Good luck with the bodywork repairs.

@pauldean1021 tank you for info the plate is there behind te seat not looked at it tho I believe it was orange as all the engine bas is and looks original we are looking to cover the top bed matching the seats so ould definitely sell the ones I have on

Just a quick one about the front drag links. Only one is adjustable from factory. I’ve recently seen people buying a pair of adjustable ones to make setting up the tracking an easier job. I’d already done mine when I found this out. If you haven’t done it yet you could exchange one? Either way I’m looking forward to watching your progress because I’m halfway through doing the same job but because of rust not damage but still the whole right side. Only difference is I’ll be joining the big panel 1/3 way up. Good luck with it. 👍🏽

I have fitted original to it but may look onto that as I was looking at tracking and looks like a right pain to do good luck with your build id love to see it
