i really loved how the reds made these east coast sports casters cry , nbc announcers hated cincinnati and the reds kicked their butts

They tried sooo hard to make Munson equal to Johnny Bench and it was laughable. Munson was a good catcher but there will never be another JB.

Yes I tend to root for the Midwestern teams more for that reason. You know, like it's just taken for granted that we're all supposed to know all this Yankee and Red Sox history and details. Drives me crazy sometimes.

I noticed they had Phil Rizzuto in the booth for the national broadcast. I don’t understand why modern MLB doesn’t do this. Invite one of the local announcers to be part of the broadcast team in their home stadium. Instead we’re stuck with Joe Buck every goddamn time for 20 years.

Dreissen would have been a star on any other team. But he unselfishly waited his turn and was productive off the bench. The reds had bench and a great “bench” as well. Everyone knew their role.

The 76 Reds were loaded. 3 Hall of Famers and Rose and Concepcion should be. C Great debate would be the best team of the 70s, Reds or A's

Probably the Reds, simply because Finley broke up his team in 1976…. Although, that 1972 WS loss to the A’s makes it an interesting debate…

A's had better overall starting pitching, but their lineup, as good as it was, was outgunned by the Reds. We will never know for sure.....would have been a great series, the '73 A's vs. the '76 Reds.

Too Bad, The Rest Of The New York Yankees Could Not Hit. But, Great Pitching From The Cincinnati Reds Will Do That! Thankfully, The New York Yankees Learned From Their Mistakes. The Los Angeles Dodgers Did Not Have The Stellar Pitching That The Cincinnati Reds Had. Plus, The New York Yankees Getting Reggie Jackson Did Not Hurt The Team, Overall, Except Billy Martin's Ego! 😳🧐😱🤯😁😅😂🤣😎🤓🙂☺️🏟️⚾🏆

@@GetBenched2010 It used to be back in the day until 1974, that for the odd numbered games, Curt Gowdy would call PBP for the 1st half of the game, and the local broadcaster would do PBP for the 2nd half. The even numbered games, the local broadcaster would do PBP for the first half, Gowdy would do PBP for the 2nd half.

Man did I want the Reds in 77 after this sweep. We had Reggie and Guidry the next year. We did our part, they lost their division to the Dodgers. An equally good team, with better pitching. Seems like the Reds only beat yeams that were not quite ready yet. Boston, NY Yankees. They lost to Baltimore and Oakland. Dynasty themselves. 77 Yankees beat these Reds 😊

They couldn't get past the Dodgers in 77', whom the Yankees beat in 6, they weren't beating the Yankees in 77'. The reds lost to dynasty Orioles and A's teams, they had to LEARN how to win. Yankees learned how to win by losing World Series to Cincy. Then Reggie and Gator put them over the hump.
