Is it possible to rebuild/clean the inside of the switch? By any chance do you have a video on it?

You can open the switch. That said, the tabs of the metal cover are easy to break off.

Hello. Finding your videos of great benefit. Thank you. I have lost the main beam on my 1983 R100CS (Euro spec). I want to test the ignition switch but I can not remove it. No problem with the outer 27mm hex nut but following that the key barrel will not push through. Is the interior hex nut secured to the inside wall of the light bucket? If so, do I need to unscrew the entire switch from the inside after disconnecting the wiring? Kind regards.

Deaglán, There is no nut inside the shell. I'd tap on the switch with a plastic hammer to get it to slide through the hole into the headlight shell.

great to know about the wiring, but how do I remove it? I have the 1992 R100R and seems to be the only item I can not remove. It has a tiny red seal on the side which has a small screw inside, but I can t manage to unscrew it! do you have any tips?
