Phenomenal everything! I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings everything is beautiful. I'd pay the 50 60 70 k that these new trucks are for this one! At least I could work on it!

I wanted to share the following: I saw this video and attempted to do a full frame off restoration of a 1977 Ford F-250 "Highboy." So I purchased one and shipped it from California to Paul in Phoenix. When the truck arrived, it was a little nicer than I had expected and decided that it was the wrong truck, but the right guy. I am now looking for another donor truck for a full frame-off restoration with Paul at Modern Too Classics Auto Designs. The takeaway: Paul didn't get a single thing out my recent attempted transaction in Phoenix except an annoying out of town customer, free parking for my truck for the weekend, a couple trips to a notary for some California paperwork, and a complimentary ride to the airport on an otherwise failed onset to a restoration project. The entire time, Paul was a 10/10 class act that never acted put out or interrupted for his time. I can't express enough how truly exceptional Paul's character is. Consider this my highest recommendation of him should you be fortunate enough to work with him on a project.

Damn this makes me sick. Told a woman in Seattle I'll buy her truck, a '77 F250 with 40K miles and gave her my cell and home #'s, and email. Don't you know she sold it to someone else for $1500 less than what I said I would pay which was her advertised price. She never replied to me when I asked her to look for another one for me. I can only hope that it was not as good as it looked. Paul did a Great job on this F150. When that time comes, I will be sending mine to Paul. Not just for his excellent work, but also because he is such a down to earth guy. 100%

Hey man love the truck! I have a 77 and was wondering if you’d be able to give me the exact specs on your tires and rim combo? I am looking for a set of tires and think these look great

Hey, thanks for watching the video. The tires are 35x12.50x15 or 16.5s I can't remember exactly because I built that one a while back. Hopefully this helps you out.

How long did this project take and about how much was the total cost? Looking to have a 79 F-250 4x4 restored.
@moderntooclassicautodesign86764 жыл бұрын
Hi, glad you liked the video. That project took about 400 hours at $55 a hour plus about $5000 in material. Most shop charge more, maybe $85. You can buy cheaper materials and save money but you can see the difference in quality years from now with cheaper paint rock chipping more and not having as my UV protection as a higher end product. A general guideline for a complete restoration without a bunch of sheetmetal repair is 300 hours for frame off and about half that for keeping the body on the frame and not doing the underside. This customer wanted the inside of the bed bodyworked and it was super time consuming sanding all the individual steps inside. Feel free to hit me up with any other questions, I also got Instagram if you want to see weekly project @pauliaquinta

How much did the restoration cost?
@moderntooclassicautodesign8676 Жыл бұрын
I believe it was around 300 hours on the bodywork and paint which is $21,000 on the labor and $5000 for paint and materials. The customer for this truck owns a speed shop here in Az so he supplied all his own parts.
@chuckfowler47542 жыл бұрын
👍 what gauge cluster is that?
@moderntooclassicautodesign86762 жыл бұрын
The customer supplied most of the parts but I think it was a dakota digital guage cluster, the model with sweeping guages to keep the old school look.

Thanks for checking it out but that one was a built for a client. I do build a couple vehicles a year to sell at the Barrett Jackson and also for individuals. If you're not in a hurry, let me know your budget and we can get together to build anything you like. Typically 10 weeks body and paint, then I sub out upholstery and mechanical.

@moderntooclassicautodesign86763 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching the video. That truck I actually built for a client. He brought me a shell and purchased all the parts. I just billed him hourly at $55 per hour plus materials. At the end of each day, I send a email with pictures of the days progress along with the hours I worked so there's no surprises and all my materials are stored in my ppg mixing bank and itemized by the ounce. That's definitely the most common approach to building a car for a client but I am open to other options as well.
