Really nice old f250. I had to maintain a small number of those for a electrical contractor back around then. Outside of a battery, oil and filters, tunes and the occasional carb rebuild they were pretty good old work trucks, hard to kill. That one is in really good shape, nice score.

Wow this takes me back. I grew up in the 70's and 80's and my dad was a ford man. I think he owned at some point every version of this truck. I tell you a 70's f250 with air and cruise was a rare critter around here. I've seen more unicorns then a 70's f250 setup like this one. Looks pretty solid, seems like the drivers side floors where always bad around here. I've never seem one with rust on the ceiling like that, seems kinda odd to me. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work.

@gosportjamie7 жыл бұрын
That's a really nice old Ford. I bet your customer will be well pleased with that one. I reckon a lot of Ford guys would have been very happy to find that one as usually they seem to be very rusty, even dry state examples. And it's another Ford product from the '70s that someone ticked a fair few boxes on the options list when they bought it, A/C, cruise control, two-tone paint, it seems to be becoming a pattern with you, after Angus. I wouldn't be surprised if it really is 22,000 miles, or 122,000 miles and very well cared-for, that wasn't a great period for build quality with any manufacturer really, but the interior (and pedal rubbers) was just too good for it to have done many miles...
@ClassicTruckRescue7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if its not a low-miler, there's no doubt they weren't abusive miles. You can really tell when an old truck has been loved and well cared-for. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick

I'm happy to see you folks recovering from the winter setbacks and making improvements at the ranch. I'm sure that I could never do what you have done there so far. Congrats to Jamie. She's going to be the coolest bus driver ever. :) That is a really nice example of a 73-79 Ford truck. We very rarely see survivors that clean here in Ohio these days. Nicely optioned, too. I couldn't make out the tag on the fender but it's either a Trailer Special or Camper Special. (since the bumper looks like a factory piece and has the trailer plug, I'm guessing TS). Those models had upgrades tailored to those applications. Really nice find. Ya know, fer a Chevy guy, you sure seem to have quite a few Fords rolling in there. Lol. Kidding, of course, They're all cool. Keep up the good work and Thanks Fer Sharin'.
@ClassicTruckRescue7 жыл бұрын
Its a Camper Special. I agree, I think Jamie is going to be a very cool bus driver. I'm thinking someone probably kept this F250 in a garage, or under a carport at the least. It really is in great condition compared to the others I looked at. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
@lsrx1017 жыл бұрын
Take a look on the left frame rail near the front of the bed. There should be a wiring connector there for camper wiring. There was originally a pigtail provided to connect the truck to the camper, but those are usually long gone by now. They turn up now and then though. Part number C8TZ13A576B. It's possible that someone used the pigtail to run the wiring back to the bumper connector, I saw that a couple of times back in the day. I hope this makes your project a little easier.

Sweet looking truck. I've always liked the 1976-77 Ford F250-F350 trucks. They'd be perfect for either carrying a camper in or towing a travel trailer. My grandparents had one when I was a boy. Rick all you need is a PCE.of arborite on the inside roof ,Man alive I've had 34 of these trucks I did what your doing with the GMC trucks fix and repair ,I see the oil pressure is high at cold that's good it should drop to about half when warm ,Check the back of the heads see if it has a crossover cooling pipe for the EGR the California emissions will have it this will make the exaust snap the pipe can be pinched and folded over to stop the sound till fixed ,I've had Ford's from 67 to 94 .

Hi Rick. I never owned a boat, but in the early 70's (I'm 46) Dad had a wooden speed boat. One day Dad, a friend and his family went water skiing. A good time was had by all, until, the friends youngest daughter got back in the boat, handed my father a piece of wood and said "is this important?" Dad was about to say no when he flipped it over, it was a piece of the hull. He gunned it for shore. It sank about 50 feet from the beach in 5 feet of water. In 10 minutes 20 men had waded out to help. An hour later it was on the beach. All of the men stayed and helped until the boat was back on the trailer. Non of them would except anything but a thank you and handshake, so Dad and Mom invited them all to a cookout on the beach the next weekend. A good time was had by all. The boat was sold soon after.

I never cease to be amazed by the stories our mechanical "Old Friends" bring back. Okay...real quick...The first time I put my boat in the water was on the 4th of July at a campground my entire famiy has been going to for 30-years. Its called Pine Hollow and its up high on the southeast side of Mount Hood. I drug the boat up there and spent all day July 3rd installing new cables for the steering and throttle. It was late when I got finished so I floated and paddled it to the dock because it has a 428 Cobra Jet in it and I didn't want to wake up the campground. Got up late July 4th and didn't bother checking on the boat, just sat around the campground relaxing. We go down to the lake at dusk to set up a spot to watch the fireworks. Tons of people on the beach. As it starts getting dark, someone points to my boat and says "your boat looks like its sitting pretty low in the water." It was sinking. I ran out on the dock and the inside of the boat was full of water. I yanked the engine cover off and could see the carburetor was still above water, so I fired it up. Its roaring, the belts and pulleys are spraying water everywhere and everyone on the beach is laughing their heads off and cheering as I have it at full throttle going maybe 2-miles an hour driving the swamped boat towards the boat ramp. Fortunately a friend had the foresight to go grab my truck and trailer and be waiting when I got there. Next day I fixed the leak..(Bellows) and put it back in the water. Fired right up and ran great. Raced all the way across the lake, grinning from ear to ear. Then it spit out two old rusty freeze plugs and started filling up with rust-colored water. On the opposite side of the lake from the boat ramp. Limped back across the lake, bailing with a bucket while driving, as all my friends and family stood on the beach laughing and making bets on wether or not I'd make it. That sums up my entire realationship with my boat...NO, I'm not that attatched to it.

Okay, thank you. Also, I just found out this morning that the bees were fine. The owner just moved them because he was worried about flooding. They will be brought back in Spring.

You know that the definition of "Boat" is a hole in the water you throw money into...
@ClassicTruckRescue7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, everytime I throw that boat in the water, it starts taking on water. It has almost sunk both times I've tried to use it. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick

ready to part with the 77 Lincoln?
@ClassicTruckRescue7 жыл бұрын
There's another black coupe just like it (except it doesn't have the rear disc brakes) on Ebay for 34k right now. I really don't think he will get anywhere near that for it, but I'm watching. No, I'm not ready to part with Angus just yet, but if you tell me exactly what year, color, etc you want, I will keep an eye out for a nice one. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick

Very true Rick. Oh & CONGRATS to TRUCKER GIRL Jamie. Is she going to drive a school bus or something else? Tell her Class B is the starting point. get that class A down the line. GREAT JOB.

The school bus driving job is her shortcut to the big Dumptruck of her dreams. She does want to keep driving the kids around though. Jamie loves kids.

Don't give all of the good ol American vehicles to foreign people! Keep them here!
@ClassicTruckRescue7 жыл бұрын
Some of my very best Friends are "Foreign People". Trust me, the trucks I do send to them get treated like family members. We have plenty of trucks sitting in bushes and fields over here that deserve to be loved and restored. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
@lsrx1017 жыл бұрын
Many smaller "foreign" countries don't have the automotive range and diversity of cars as in the US, and most only have cars available that weren't built "there". I've seen videos from countries all across Europe, South America and even Africa, Australia and New Zealand, of people that love and restore American cars. (I'd love to have an Aussie Ford or Holden UTE of any year). Like Rick said, we've got plenty. We can afford to give them some nice ones. I feel some pride when I see a "foreign" guy posting a video of his American iron. I'm really glad they appreciate them as much as we do.

@ClassicTruckRescue7 жыл бұрын
Because I love ALL old trucks. We also Use a Ford truck to Rescue a lot of Chevy and GMC trucks. I have always said that its fine for people to have a favorite brand, but I like anyone who likes old trucks, no matter what their personal favorite is. That's why its called "Classic Truck Rescue" and not "Classic Chevy Rescue". Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
