The previous night before hearing this interview with Marie-Louise von Franz I have dreamt that a few scenes developed like in a movie, scenes in which I took part. Then, in my dream I woke up and those scenes started unfolding again just like in my dream and I told myself “now this will happen, after that I I go there that will happen, just like in my dream”, so I was trying to avoid dangerous situations I have already dreamt, all that in my dream. And then I woke up(this was yesterday morning) and told myself “What a strange dream, a dream within a dream! What was this all about?” Well, after a full day I decided to listen to something before going to sleep and a fragment of this interview was recommended to me by the KZbin algorithm, and then this very interview started to play. After 20 minutes into it, it dawned on me what my dream was all about: this very interview and the ideas presented in it! Now I want to say where else I have learned about premonitory and telepathic dreams (and wonderfully explained): in the interviews and work of Rupert Sheldrake (he had held a Ted presentation that was banned), and now has a KZbin channel. I started realizing after his observations that I often dream in advance things that are about to happen the very next day, in slightly different context. And then Elder Thaddeus of Vitovnica who said thad we wake up in a mood that matches how that day will unfold. Sometimes I wake up sad, without a reason, and I know something unpleasant will happen that day. It is not causality, I started to notice that it was so after the quarrels with a family member have already happened and then realizing that indeed in those mornings something was off, just like Thaddeus had said. Now, in any competition at TV I try to see on the faces of the players their state of spirit, if they are happy or sad, to guess who will win. I now say that the future influences the past.
@The_Jungian_Aion14 күн бұрын
Beautifully said. I would add that it all happens simultaneously - past, present, and future intertwining, as the unconscious does not experience time as a linear phenomenon. Yet, our part, the ego’s role, which is always anchored in the now - is to navigate this interplay with as much consciousness as possible, guided by a balanced, mature, and moral attitude to the best of our ability.

There is a Bulgarian publisher, (a very small publishing house), Maria Abadjeva, who is highly interested in alchemy. I listened to her lectures on you tube. This she does in the context of her studies of the secret knowledge (esoterism, but she hates the word). This is the only example of vigorous, systematic interest in alchemy nowadays, of which I know.

South India is NOT matriarchal. Their extravagant dressing was a colonial move. South India perhaps is the most patriarchal society with its authority of the Vedas revealed only to upper caste men while the women were not even allowed to access them. Texts like the Manu Smriti was by far the most patriarchal civic text a society could produce.

The "catastrophe" would have come in 2011 {50 years after Jung passed as Marie-Louise discusses Jung's papers - in her possession } 2011 was the most expensive year in terms of disaster losses in history, mostly because of a spate of disasters affecting developed countries. Globally, the economic cost of disasters in 2011 was $380 billion, of which $210 billion were the result of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. This was 72 percent higher than the losses in 2005, the second costliest year in history of disaster-related losses. All the same this was not the year that *_ended_* Mankind, as Marie-Louise declares @41:47 in her reference to Jung's mystical intuition. So . . .

everyone talking about how beautiful the talk is, when in fact little of it was actually speaking of beautiful things. Is everyone ignoring Jung's vision of the end of the world and how concerned she actually is about it? Or perhaps how sick she considers the American unconscious to be? She literally said there's an impending doom over the whole of humanity and she prays it is not as bad as it may be. Are you all deaf or what?

25:00 “You are both different people”, of course. But that comes out in the wash, we are human and that’s basically where we are alike, which is most of it. It’s almost as if you are asking whether or not should you trust the symbols, or if you can’t trust them because you are a woman. Well, is your faith on the symbols without the use of your head, aren’t you looking at your life? It’s just the language things are conveyed in, of course symbols, metaphors and dramas mean different things for different people, and that’s when things being personal is taken into account. That’s partly the reason why you can’t make a dictionary of symbosl which says “this means this and that means that”, well sure but in terms of what? Use your other functions, trust your instincts when getting the meaning of something.

The whole life is a projection of the self? Umm ... no. Alot of wisdom and knowledge from this woman an Junge. But here: no. There is alot more realness, true connection, and a variety of beings than the projection of one self. Maybe a "perception" through the tools of the self, but what is being perceived is not the self. It is a reality apart from the self and can be connected to the self. The connnection has a metamorphosis in itself. It's an own body. Not just a mingle of projection. Very little of what v. Franz says doesn't resonate with my own experiences and perceptions. Her comments on the U.S. / paradigm, democracy and the threat of nuclear war however, as timely as they still may seem 45 years later, strike me as mindbogglingly indiscriminate, simplistic. Assuming v. Franz' remarks were honest, or not the "animus" talking, makes me suppose, that there's a fatal flaw in Jung's theories.
