Fantastic footage! Whoever was behind the camera really did a great job. I’ve followed this sport since the 70s and have so many fond memories of attending various national and Trans-AMA events back then. This video brought those memories back to life for me. What a great era in the sport’s history. Thanks so much for sharing!

Another nice post ! Thx. To me , as a 61 yr. old lifetime fan , when I was a teenager these tracks looked as professional to me then as they might be to a young kid now , kinda 🤓

Great video! I can't believe that's from 8mm film from 1977. I was at that race spectating. I had fun trying to identify the riders: 1 Suzuki Tony DeStefano, 2 Yamaha Bob Hannah, 4 Husqvarna Kent Howerton, 5 Kawasaki Gary Semics, 6 Maico Steve Stackable, 7 Suzuki Danny LaPorte (Lost his seat by 22:45!), 8 Yamaha Rick Burgett, 9 Honda Marty Smith, 11 Bultaco ???, 13 Maico ???, 14 Suzuki ???, 16 Honda Tommy Croft 19 CanAm Jimmy Ellis, 21 Husqvarna ???, 102 Honda Jim Pomeroy

Very nice footage. Just look at them Honda bikes. Love those red, white and blue Team Honda uniforms. I just wish there was an audio to hear them bikes.

Между прочим в 1977г. чемпионом мира в 250куб.см. стал Генадий Моисеев (СССР)на КТМ (Австрия) , вице чемпионом тоже на КТМ Владимир Кавинов (СССР).

This was my first national I attended. I live approximately thirty minutes from the track. I miss the old layout of the track and the pits.

Tip: for when it is slow motion - go to settings and playback 1.5 or 1.75

Aw Jim you let Smitty get ya. And now LaPorte's seat fell off! Was this sabotage by his mechanic for chewing him out on the sidelines? That was some race. A freight train. What happened to Burgett? He passed Pomeroy at one point? Great footage. Better than today's races.

Did I see a Harley (Aermacchi) go by there? A few dead people in this video, unfortunately, 102, Jim Pomeroy, 9, Marty Smith. Both in four wheel off road accidents.

Is there anywhere I can see the same video that's not in slow motion the entire time?
@lfoxracer8 күн бұрын
@Scandle68 Not really, with film you need to shoot slo mo in the camera and that's how I shot it. You can try clicking the settings gear at the top right corner and raising the playback speed to 1.25.

@MikeAsbury-ti2yx Sorry Mike, vhs came out in 76 and a vhs camera was barely available, weighed a ton, cost a fortune and SUCKED. If your looking for TV coverage....nope.
