Dave, great show with Grant...hey, you're from Canada, right?...gotta say I've never heard someone pronounce southern = "sow (like cow) - thern"...not being critical, just wondering if that's a dialect from your area in Canada. Will say it's odd that the "ou" sound in south changes to 'uh' when you add 'ern' for the adjective. Again, not making fun, just curious. Obviously many words are pronounced differently depending on the region you were raised or live in. Language dialects fascinate me. Being from the southern US, we have some different pronunciations of our own too. Webb in Atlanta, GA

Rumours-Fleetwood Mac ( an album very close to my heart) Radios Appear-Radio Birdman ( Australian version) Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols-The Sex Pistols (some versions have God Save The Queen closing side 1, others have Problems the side 1 closer..Here, I'm not fazed. 1977, a wonderful year for rock. I do like the FM album Rumours quite a bit but it's not my fave Mac period (that would be the Bob Welch era 1971-1974 with Mystery To Me my #1)...A 'sampler' of just A-C (there are obviously MANY more)... More well-known great albums: Aerosmith/Draw The Line - not quite as good as the preceding albums but still... Al Stewart/Time Passages Ambrosia/Life Beyond LA America/Live Barclay James Harvest/Gone To Earth Be Bop Deluxe/Live In The Air Age (quite simply one of the best live albums ever) Billy Joel/The Stranger Bob Marley & The Wailers/Exodus Brand X/Moroccan Roll Camel/Rain Dances Captain Beyond/Dawn Explosion Charlie/No Second Chance Cheap Trick/In Color (maybe the best power pop album of the 70's, or ever) & s/t Colosseum II/Electric Savage (Gary Moore!) Crosby, Stills & Nash/CSN ************************************************************************************ Lesser-known great albums: Alphonso Johnson/Spellbound Andy Bown/Come Back Romance, All Is Forgiven Arden House/Coming Home (this is really Jasper Wrath) Baby Grand - s/t Bad Boy/The Band That Milwaukee Made Famous (connections to Cheap Trick) A Band Called "O"/The Knife (really underrated band IMO) Beaverteeth - s/t Benoit Widemann/Stress Billy Cobham/Magic Birth Control/Increase (wonderful prog band) Blue/Another Night Time Flight The Bob Meighan Band/(Me'hun) Boxer/Absolutely Buddy Miles/Roadrunner Burt Compton & Steve Mele/Rock & Roll Genius Cain/Stringer Carsten Bohn's Bandstand/Humor Rumor The Chicago Triangle/Emergence Circus (South Africa)/In The Arena City Boy/Young Men Gone West Crystal Haze - s/t

@wolf1977
@wolf1977 4 күн бұрын
For 1977 Punk (not really my thing) I only have The Jam's This Is The Modern World - great album & got me into this band, not really 'punk' as such. Mix of punkish attitude with rock & mod revival. Also In The City...And some selected individual tracks from The Ramones & The New Hearts. I just never connected with the attitude-over-music approach (plus a lot of punk vocals are just below par - at least for me)
