Thanks for posting these Phillies games from 1978. I grew up not far from Philly in Hamilton Township, NJ and '78 was the year I really started getting into baseball. Schmidt, the Bull, Carlton, Tugger, Bowa, Boone, Shake N' Bake, and the Secretary of Defense. What a roster.

@@albrownfromtheothersideoft3115 Unfortunately I did not tape any games. But yeah, we were probably spoiled more than any baseball fans in the country. TV for three major market teams. It was like having ESPN before ESPN was a thing.

That's some line up for the Phillies. I guess they figured since Carlton was pitching they could go with a lot of bench players in the starting lineup. Sounds like it was a Sunday afternoon game as well so I'm sure that's another reason why they were resting a lot of their starters
