This game was blacked out in Cincinnati so this is my first look at this telecast. Poor video quality beats blackout right? Thanks for the upload!

Dam Shame Issac Curtis & Kenny Anderson Aren't in the Hall Of Fame It's Darn Near As The H.O.F Committee has Something Against Former Bengals Greats IMO Guys like Ken Riley, Lamar Parrish, Cory Dillon, Max Montoya, Chad Johnson, All Deserve the Call.

Reggie Williams #57 of the Cincinnati Bengals. During his career he recorded 16 interceptions and 23 fumble recoveries and 62.5 sacks. In his final two seasons with Cincinnati, he was appointed to an open seat on the Cincinnati City Council in 1988 and was elected for a second term in 1989 on the Charter Party ticket. Although he was a starter for 14 seasons, Williams played most of his career on a bad right knee. He has had 24 knee surgeries since his career ended. He had the first surgery in 1979, plus knee replacements as well as multiple infections. He played in super bowls 16 and 23 NFL Players Association's Byron R. (Whizzer) White Humanitarian Award in 1985 NFL Man of the Year for 1986 Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year 1987

There are pictures of his knee on the internet that should require a warning to viewers before they can show them.

I couldn't see the ball, but neither could the Bengals, who repeatedly caught, then fumbled, aerial strikes from Ken Anderson. When the score is 13-O Raiders (vs. the beat-up, one-win Bengals), Howard Cosell apologizes for the lopsided blow-out. But then Anderson hits on every pass and Pete Johnson trots into the Raider end-zone, leading Dandy Don and Howard to apologize for their apology. But the same happens in the 2nd half after 2 TD passes by Stabler. Again premature, as Anderson answers with 2 TD passes to Isaac Curtis, making it a clse game until the final TD from Stabler. Anderson passes for 3 times the yardage (close to 400)--perhaps the reason Stabler would later designate Ken Anderson as the best teaching model for any aspiring QB--for his form in passing, ball-handling, and footwork.

A completely horrible year for Raiders receivers! I saw every televised game in my area (which was every game as I lived in Southern California.) Of Kenny Stabler's league leading 30 interceptions, 16 went either through his receivers hands or bounced off of their chests. Casper took to defending Snake in the press, who (as usual) were clueless. I wonder if some of those guys even watched these games. As for The Bengals, they disappeared and reappeared as a contending team very quickly. Just a few years later they were one Joe Montana drive from winning The Super Bowl. The Bengals have a few good runs in their team history. Kenny Anderson was a great QB.

How about that booming punt by Ray Guy from his endzone?

Oakland stunk the joint up in 78,and fell below contending abilities, showing age and inconsistent play..

The quality of this video is piss poor. I sincerely hope this isn't the ONLY copy of this game footage.

Eric Young This is about the quality of the reception I got on my tv when I saw the game live. I’ll take it. Thank goodness there is this record of the game. The audio alone is wonderful.
