1978 Kawasaki KZ650B

Is a 600$ kz650 worth it looks clean maybe as a project I’m 23 and want to be a welder someday also have a huge dream of owning a motorcycle and riding someday I want to get this bike cause my dad had a kz650 custom when he was young I think it would make him so happy to see it but he thinks it could cost a lot more to get it working really good. What’s your opinion?
