I miss those six foot long hoods on cars:( Now a days you can't even see the front end of the car as the hood is short and everything is curved down. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Back in the 90s we owned a 1978 Mark V Diamond Jubilee in Jubilee Gold with 17000 miles. Fantastic car. Everyone should take at least one long road trip in one of these cars. Incomparable experience.

What a automobile, the zenith of Lincolns. My first Lincoln was a 1975 Mark 4, loaded to the hilt. Rear ABS (sure track), mini vent windows, moon roof, silver on silver "halo" top, and with deep blood red leather. I should have never gotten rid of it.......

Very nice car and ride. Relived our visit to SFO.

I really enjoyed your video. The music goes well with it. I thought that my 73 Grand am had the best hood to view over, but the Mark V has it beat. I want to buy one now.

Your car is just fantastic. I love these 70's american cars, especially Lincoln ones ! Yours looks perfect both exterior and interior ! I wish I had one, here in France to cruise along ... But the only thing I can do is enjoy your video. And, in my opinion, the music goes very well with the video

when you drive these cars it's like driving all over again when you started driving as a teenager.

I am so grateful for this video. It's been years since I owned a traditional full-size car ('84 Grand Marquis Colony Park) and watching this short film takes me back to when cars had personality and going for a drive was an event in itself. Of course my old Mercury did not have the panache of your lovely Lincoln but here in the UK where I live, any big American car turns heads! By the way, it's been suggested that this car is not a Lincoln. I'm no expert but wasn't the Continental brand incorporated back into the Lincoln-Mercury Division around 1957? Also, there are mid 70's TV ads on KZbin where the announcer is talking about the "new Lincoln Continental" ... Thanks again shane970 for the memories. Somehow the view looking down the bonnet (excuse me, the hood) of my CR-V is not quite the same.

Very nice car. Had a 79 Givenchy. You show one of the most impressive things about the care: the long beautifully shaped hood (and the driver is hot too!). What would make this video perfect though, is to play music from 1978, preferrably some elegant disco music, so appropriate for the car, and the time period.

Someday I might post a video of the Grand Am. I need to replace the endura front end sometime this year. It's coming off in pieces right now. In checking prices for Mark V's, a nice one can be had for 5 or 6 thousand. A steal in my opinion. I wouldn't mind seeing a video of the exterior of your car. There's not too many on KZbin. Good ones at least.

@shane970 I just picked up this same car. But my passenger side window will not go up on it's own. It sounds like the gear is binding up. Any suggestions?? And the driver window works almost flawlessly,. but the vent window always seperates from the main assembly going up and down. I cannot get it to seat properly to open and close the window. So far you're the only one I have come across that even knows what the hey I'm talkin about, lol. I hope you're still on here.

The comment below says this is not a Lincoln. CORRECT. Continental was its own seperate brand. And sold as such. Just the same, you would not go to a Toyota dealer to buy a Lexus. I think a 70s disco song would have more fitting. I don't understand the song chosen. Lastly, I love the question I get with my own 78 Mark V. What's the gas mileage? I tell them I don't know and I don't care. It gets filled up once a month.

@shane970 Thanks for pointing this out. Everybody that rides in my Mark VI waxes indignant about how you park a car with such a big hood and trunk. I can actually see my corners; you can't see the "corners" on your jellybean! For extra kicks, I like to do a lot of parallel parking to shut up nay-saying passengers and onlookers.

These cars are really easy to drive and park! They go exactly where you point them and as stated you can clearly see all four corners.

Very well shot video and the car must be also beautiful - judging from what I see - but the song just ruins it, I am sorry. Anyway, I was wondering if these cars can be driven reliably at least 50-70 mile a week, or just a nice easy Sunday cruise is recommended. Thinking to buy one for a long time, but I had a 79 stunningly gorgeous Caddy before, and then the engine caught fire.

who is this song by and what's the name of it

Hideous song, doesn't go with the car at all. By the way a 1978 Continental Mark V is not a Lincoln but a seperate make unto itself, the next step up from Lincoln. My favorite car of all time - perfect lines. It is nice of you and your BF to take your Aunt out for a spin, by the way.
