Many lazy Saturday and Sunday afternoons watching wide world of sports and bowling. It used to be a big deal. Brings back memories of awful haircuts and mustaches

the lanes i grew up bowling on in my hometown city of West Allis. I too lived 12 blocks away, same as Mr. Jaskie. My father won 2 ABC tournaments there in the mid sixities again the very best

Cutsor’s father smoking as a spectator, I surely don’t miss those days.
@sludge41254 жыл бұрын
Yeah, smoking in restaurants, airplanes, and, yep, bowling centers. Mine didn’t have one, but, some high schools had student smoking lounges.

My ex girlfriend would make me put my clothes I wore to leagues outside until laundry time lol. It is nice to not smell like an ashtray after bowling.

@@AMEER-114- sure, if you're referring to not having some sort of designated smoking area, but if you are saying the fact that anyone should be able to smoke around people who don't anywhere,anytime is bs. Second hand smoke affects others. Thats fact.

Holman annoyed a lot of spectators. However he was a superb shot maker. I respect that. He was on his way to winning this tournament & a few shots got away from him. Marshall's career speaks for itself.

39:03 those are some groovy slacks there Bo. He should have shown us how to set up our approach by boogieing back on the approach 🤣🕺🏼

I read in a book about the history of bowling in Milwaukee that Jaskie was sponsored by a local accountant. Now that I look closely at the man behind Jaskie’s wife, I believe that’s the accountant. Hard to be sure since I didn’t work for him until 1996.

I have no idea what Marshall Holman was or is like personally but I could never stand his arrogance when bowling. My family and I now have a cat named Marshall. My little great niece, who we are raising, named him after a cartoon character. Lol

Back when the coolest video game system was an Atari, the coolest thing on TV was Battlestar Galactica and the scariest movie was Halloween. But the plus side is that back then they bowled on REAL BOWLING LANES without all of that damned blue oil goop messing up their shots.

I cranked the ball myself back in the 70s and 80s. I prefer to root for the crankers no matter what their personalities were. I liked Holman's antics and didn't mind them. There have been many athletes in other sports which I hated. They were much more obnoxious and abrasive than Holman ever was. So the bowlers I liked were Roth(he inspired me to crank the ball), Holman, and Handley mainly.

Bob Handley was my fave. It was way more exciting when he was on.

It can get real ugly nowadays. Crankers can hit the headpin and leave the 3-4-6-7-9-10. See it in league a few times a season.
