1978 Nebraska at Alabama

This is the 9/2/1978 Nebraska at Alabama game. Nebraska had surprised Alabama in 1977. The Huskers had lost their opener at home to Washington State and no great revelations were developing that led anyone to think that they could beat top ranked Alabama in 77 but as fate would have a tailback named I M Hipp had a great game and Nebraska rebounded to beat Alabama. No surprise available in 78 as an eventual national champion Tide Team controlled the outcome here. i claim no rights.

The first game of that 1978 National 🏆 season for the Crimson Tide. No indoor stadium 🏟️, or neutral site. Remember in September when the Alabama heat and that offensive line withered the big red thrashing machine. Total domination after that 16 play, 99 yard drive in the second quarter.

In the 70s the blue bloods played each other more than now. Never know Nebraska played in Alabama. I know they did in an Orange Bowl.

Tough year for Nebraska. They upset Oklahoma and then had to play them again in Orange Bowl
