Most dominant team ever. Played straight up grown man football, and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

I recall working with a Florida fan who thought the Gators would slobber-knock Nebraska. I told him Weurful would be sacked at least seven times. Yep, that was the number at the end of the game. He claimed Nebraska couldn't run with the Florida receivers, I told him Weurful would need time to throw the ball. HAHA...that was funny. With the dominant defense, and the overpowering offense, Florida learned what it took to win a National Championship, not all "Fun and Gun," but a little balance. IMHO it was easily the most dominant championship game ever, considering when it was played. Finally, this Nebraska team is often selected as the greatest college football team ever.

In a testament (one of many) to how good this Nebraska team was, Florida still finished #2 in the final poll despite getting completely destroyed in this game.

I’m a Georgia fan enjoying our success right now. But there is no way we would stand a chance against this Nebraska team. This was the greatest college football team ever.

@@markstepanekii388 Well. We didn't get our 3-peat. If we got in the playoff we would've. But if we win the natty this year. That's 3 out of 4. And a dynasty.

So crazy! Damn near every Husker starter on this team either went to the NFL or is in the Husker Hall of Fame. Majority are in the HoF and went to the NFL. Ahman Green had a 1k season as a Frosh and didn’t even start! Many of the 3rd stringers on this team were later incredible starters in 97 who won the NC and went to the league too!

That Nebraska D was what made them even more dominant in the 90s. Osborn got speed on defense to counter teams like Miami, and Florida.

Elite at every single level. You can't beat that. You rarely see a team elite at all levels in a season, let alone 2 teams in the same year.

I'm a Penn State fan who strongly believes the 1995 Nebraska squad was the greatest college football team of all time. They toyed with the Gators! Tommie Frazier was the greatest QB to not win a Heisman Trophy (most over-rated trophy of all-time).

The only team that could have beaten the Cornhuskers that season was themselves. Power, speed, and whatever else you want in a football team. AWESOME!

Incredible team. The only one that comes to mind that could compete because of their offensive balance and defense that COULD TACKLE is the 1986 Miami team. That’s about it.

Terrell Farley excelled at confusing offensive linemen at where he went so fast and teaching opposing QBs what the field surface they were playing on tasted like... That said, there was one Husker who was on Nebraska's first two NC winning teams who was sick in multiple senses of the word. In the 1971 "Game of the Century" between #1 Nebraska and #2 Oklahoma, Nebraska's star receiver and eventual first Heisman winner Johnny Rodgers not only opened the scoring by running a punt back 72 yards for a TD to open the scoring, he also puked at the end of the play due to how hard he ran to get that score!

This just goes to show how insanely OP the 1995 Huskers were. This Florida team would have won the NC in an ordinary season (and most of them did go on to win the NC just a year later). The 95 Huskers would have done similar things to any hypothetical time-traveling "all time great" football team, including Husker teams from other seasons. One of their early season victories was a 50-10 road blowout of a Michigan State team coached by some guy named Nick Saban. The Huskers' depth was unbelievable, especially at running back. Despite losing Lawrence Phillips to suspension due to his criminal behavior, their bench was so deep that they didn't miss him that much on the field, as they had Clinton Childs, Damon Benning, James Sims and a true freshman named Ahman Green who ended up carrying most of the running back workload after Childs and Benning both got injured. While the star power was heavy all around for the Huskers, the real reason they were able to steamroll anyone they played and not only won all their games but won them overwhelmingly (they won every game by at least 14 points, were only outscored in a half of a game once...the second half of the K-State game due to the Wildcats scoring 3 TDs late once the game was already decided... and only trailed on three occasions the entire season, two of which were in the first quarter of this game) was because they were crushingly dominant in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Despite the fact that all but one of the starters from the NC winning 1994 O-line (nicknamed "The Pipeline") graduated and had to be replaced in 1995, the 95 line was actually BETTER! They gave up zero sacks on the season (though the fact that the Huskers of that era didn't pass nearly as often as most teams helped them accomplish that). The defensive line was just as terrifying for opposing teams, as the opponents' O-lines would get overwhelmed and shoved in all directions, opening gaps for linebackers like Terrell Farley and Jamel Williams to overwhelm the backs.

The old ball coach was hard headed going into this game and it was to late to repair that blitzing of Nebraska, one year later FSU def head man Micky A went to Nebraska to learn this def scheme and use it in 96, went 11-0 and beat Florida last game of the year. Florida stayed under center with their QB and changed to shotgun for the NT game in the rematch. Added a extra blocker and boom ball out quick and offense went for 52 pts. Old ball coach said after the game he should have done this for Nebraska, not saying he would have won the game but their offense would have had a chance to produce but he added our defense had no answer for Nebraska offense that was insane.
