This has to be the greatest performance of all time man. Just when Tony sings. ‘ there is a time where I love you more than what’s happening right now ‘ Oh man this drummer sings so beautifully with his drum kit and his voice !! rest in peace TONY WILLIAMS aka the greatest of them alllll

This is fantastic! I've seen that amazing solo before from 25:44, but always wanted to see "There Comes A Time" afterwards. Also great to see Tony's singing the song.

Great concert! I bought the album that some of these songs are on when it came out! "The Joy of Flying". But the keyboards are in and out, mainly the minimoog. It gets better halfway through the concert. Altogether I'm very pleased! First time seeing him sing! Awesome band members! Nice to hear and see Tony during this time "live"! Thank you!!🙏😀😎

Can you tell (writte in fact) what do you think of the last piece of "Joy of flying " : Morgan's notions (the duet with Cecil Taylor) ; for myself this tune was changed all my music's perceptions , thank you anyway

From Wikipedia: "In 1979, Williams formed another all-new Lifetime featuring Tod Carver (guitar), Bunny Brunel (bass), Bruce Harris (keyboards), and Tom Grant (keyboards). The band's sound was a major departure from the former New Lifetime's classic fusion, with the high-energy shredding heard on and largely abandoned in favor of a cerebral and groove-laden approach that emphasized mood and melody over technical virtuosity. As with the 1977 band the 1979-era Lifetime played a small number of live gigs and no studio recordings are known to exist. Toward the end of this period Williams pared-down the lineup to a trio and played some gigs with Tom Grant on keyboards and Bunny Brunel on bass"

Is it my headphones or are the keys well lost in the mix here?
@anthonypaterra43153 жыл бұрын
the mix isn't the best unfortunately - wayyy too heavy on guitar, no bass or low end, keys are pretty buried if audible at all. would kill to have a go at mixing this audio. the footage is incredible.
