I know this is 5 years old but I do have a tip to share with all fox bodies owner. If you have a five-speed with most of us all do and when you take off and you hear a little clink when you are starting off and cannot figure out where it's coming from this tip is for you. That noise that I was hearing had me worried that either something's loose in the rear end or my transmission. Every weekend from spring until fall I would be at the drag strip with racing slicks and would race all day. So I had a good reason to worry. I finally had enough of it and put my car on jack stands and rims and had my father get in my car and start and work gear. It was definitely coming from the rear and for some reason I decided to tighten the bolts at the end of the drive shaft that attached to the rear. I used a 12 mil 12 point wrench and yes got a little bit of movement from each bolt. I thought to myself this can't be it. Sure enough when my father put the car into first gear and no more noise. I had stopped by to have lunch with a friend of mine who was a Ford mechanic. He was the senior mechanic at the dealership as we were walking out one of the mechanics stopped us and was demonstrating the noise that I was feeling with. My friend told the mechanic to change to you joints and I said you don't need to do that get a 12 mil 12 point wrench he looked at my friend he told him get him what he asked for he knows these cars better than myself. So I told them with just enough movement to tighten them up. They both were skeptical until he got into the car and the noise was gone. At that time mechanics at dealerships got paid for work and there was very little money to be made by tightening bolts and doing nothing else. Since it was a warranty work they went ahead and change the u-joints anyhow. 2 months after that Ford finally came out with a service bulletin identifying where noise was coming from. What Ford wanted mechanics to do were to replace all four bolts holding the drive shaft in. The new bolts came with loctite already on the bolts. My friend was actually able to grab a box of the bolts for me. Even after all these years 30 plus years I still have those bolt in my garage on my part shelf.

I guess I misunderstood. In the video you said turn clockwise which I thought was closed. Then said after bleeding adjust the knob in the middle
@latemodelrestoration3 ай бұрын
@@DarkFoxx88 A brake proportioning valve doesn't work the way you're thinking. When you rotate clockwise, you're allowing maximum braking pressure. When you rotate counter-clockwise you're reducing the maximum pressure by roughly 57% (this varies with each proportioning valve). The best reference I can give you is that an adjustable brake proportioning valve is not like a hose spigot. You're not "closing" or "opening" the valve. As with anything mechanical, there is a detailed engineered explanation as to how an adjustable brake proportioning valve works and that's too long for a YT comment. Lol! Hope this helps. -Landan

this kit appears to include standard 94-04 mustang rear calipers. it also includes a vented rotor. Were you to go to a parts store, you could tell them you have a '94-'04 cobra, '03-'04 mach 1, or an '01 bullit and get the correct pads. Odds are they'll STILL ask you if you have vented or solid/unvented rotors (despite the fact that the aforementioned list of cars are the only ones that have vented rotors from the factory), and you'll definitely want pads for vented rotors. The pads for unvented rotors are too thick to fit.

Will this kit fit a 7.5 rear end?
@latemodelrestoration5 жыл бұрын
Daniel - This kit is designed for cars originally equipped with 8.8 rear ends. However, it can fit 7.5 rear ends with minor modifications. Instead of using the provided axle hard lines, you would need to cut and flare your factory lines to install them into the brake hoses. Other than that, everything installs according to the video.
