First off, this Vette turn out Beautiful! Yes it was the same colors as the Pace car, but in my opinion, I feel all Vette's are Awesome. What ever a person does to their ride it doesn't really matter, it's theirs, they should be proud of their efforts. Thanks H.B.C. for sharing this video montage with us, I sure enjoyed it!

I would like to suggest Borgeson Power Steering, Electric Cooling Fans, Electric headlights & LED bulbs and Wilwood brake system. This eliminates a lot of problems with these cars.

BEAUTIFUL I'm not the biggest fan of Vettes but I do like this and to the people that ask about why you didn't give it it's Pace Car identity that's easy to fix if the owner wants just paint and decal or stencil depending on what was used back then right now he's enjoying it the way it is.

C3 "the stingray" stopped in 82. That is why it s a C3. The fact that it does not carry the stingray name plate is simply a moot point. It is one in design, if not in name. It has the best of both worlds, the stingray body, with the C2 fastback rear window. If anything, it is better.

@@gregschaust4298 no, they took the stingray off for a purpose. It was no longer a performance based car and became more of a boulevard cruiser. They brought it back in 2014 because they felt a car that performed the way the C7 did should not be called a “base model”.

@@spenceair1972 Performance based, Hahaha, I think they lost that after 73. Stingray was the style. Like I said, it is semantics referring to any C3 a a non stingray. Mine will be a stingray regardless of your opinion, so I suppose in the end it does not really matter.

Until recently, 76 was the last year of the Stingray. This is NOT a Stingray. I’ve owned a 69 and currently still have my 75 since 1984.

If you take the badge off a ZR1, or a Z06, it's still a ZR1/Z06. "Stingray" just a badge, thus all C3's can be considered a Stingray if so desired. imo

I love the cars but hate that there is no commentary. Would rather hear about the car, the customer’s reason for this particular car. The process, why this route as opposed to another. What difficulties you ran into. But still like them nonetheless.

and your pointing that out ..why? the factory did not install 5-speed transmissions in 1978...therefore it couldn't be desirable to a collector ..only the person who may like them. I, on the other hand , wuz speaking of the fact that the car wuz equipped with a standard shift transmission..which is preferable to many enthusiasts like myself . the cam lope of that motor wasn't Xactly stock either ...give me a break But thanx for the heads up Capt. Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbot" in German. :-////()((((

no factory rear spoiler for starters ....the subtle difference between a '78 and '79 (non pace car) is the rear window trim is chrome in '78...since the car had no rear spoiler and black trim I would have guess it to be a '79 , regardless of paint..which gets changed surprisingly more often than trim 😉😎I think the pace cars could be ordered special without the decals applied , but not without the spoiler ...not to say that the spoiler could have been removed @ some point but that would be unheard of..a factory luggage rack removed YES , but a spoiler removed , I doubt it

It was not a pace car as that was the 25th anniversary 1978 Corvette. I purchased a new L82 black on red 25th anniversary in dec of 1977.

Resurrection Motors It wasn't a pace car, at least not for the Indy 500. This car is a 1979. A Mustang was 1979's pace car for the Indy 500. This was, at best, a tribute to the 1978 Corvette pace car.
