I've always been a Ford guy...owned about 13 Ford trucks from 65 to 90....Then a couple of years ago I saw a Craigslist ad for a 1976 GMC Sierra Grand C25 2wd, 81,000 original miles...the owner had lost his license and needed money for court costs. Anyway, it had set for almost a year, and I couldn't hear it run, but I took a chance. Brought it home, put a battery in it, primed the carb and it fired up first try! I drive the thing everywhere!! 350 4V runs smooth as glass! Best $600 I've spent in years!! Love the square body Chevys/GMCs!! Love your vids, guys. So glad that things are coming along well with you both!! God bless you!!

What a great video, Rick ! So sorry to hear about your Dad`s injury. I hope he recovers well. Yes, getting older is a doozie for us men. I, too, am undergoing teeth issues. I need to hold my video camera UP a little higher when I make my videos - I have noticed that my ( loss of teeth ) issues are very apparent in my vids. That `79 Chevy is a very good survivor ! I just watched Elderly Iron`s video the other day, and it will be exciting to be able to view another `video collaboration` between you and Jeff. Again - Thanks !

rick i had a 79 camper special and they do look like the 3/4 ton but are actualy a one ton truck. just thought you should know. if robert doesnt buy it , i would take it in a minute!
@rumplover17 жыл бұрын
Hey Rick. Great find. A quick tip/hint in the 73-80 GM hoods: push the hood tiwards the windshield. Do not pull it down. Yes maintenance of the hinges will help, but the only sure method is to push towards the windshield. Try it. You will not regret it. And I have a question about your 77. The interior light, does it have a horizontal handle along the bottom? In 1977 only, as an ultra rare option, GM combined the interior light with a pull down cargo lamp. GM only did it the one year because the light would shine off the inside of the rear window, effectively making seeutng into the box impossible. Also, the trim on your 77 should have a yellow stripe in it. Another 1year only thing. Hmmmmm...oh yeah. In case you do not know, 1977 is first year for power windows in these trucks. The inner door stamping changed to make the accomodation, and that also changed the door panel. In retrospect, you most likely already know these things. I hope to hear back from you regarding the interior lught/cargo light combo. Take care and happy classic truck hunting!
@ClassicTruckRescue7 жыл бұрын
You are a wealth of information on the Square-Bodies my friend. Thank you. I did go check the black 77 4x4 and was disappointed that I do not have the elusive pull-down lamp. It has black paint on the trim as well, which didn't really bum me out. Don't think I d want the yellow striped trim on a black truck. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick

Nice one. Another survivor truck gets ready to start a new life. It's got to be pretty unusual to find a big block truck with that many options and the camper special package but no a/c... It would be a shame to part out that yellow and white factory diesel with the camper shell as that has got to be pretty rare survivor...
