As a young kid back in the 80’s. My uncle always had a 78. Or. 79. With big gumbos on it so that truck will always have one of the baddest looks to it. I love it brother

I always kinda laughed when I see other dents. My 73 is virtually identical right up until they changed body styles end of 70s. Only cosmetic differences I can account for are the front end facia, grill, lights etc.. Some trim option changes, FORD badging and so on. If it aint broke don't fix it. Had the same body style for damn near a decade.

My Grandpa bought a brand new long bed truck every two years and a 4 door Ford car of some make every alternate year. He never had anything more than two years old. The last truck he bought for himself before he passed away was a 78 red on black XLT that he put a brand new camper on to keep his grocery and hay for the cows dry. later that month he bought my uncle a brand new 79 302 fleet style, which for whatever reason was stupid fast and a Ford Courier for my youngest uncle who was only 14 at the time. The next week my Dad went and got a brand new black with Red interior 4x4 XLT with the 351, nearly identical to the one John Travolta’s drives in Urban Cowboy film. Had the dealer installed roll bar hust like that one. The only difference was mu Dads had the same rims in white instead of chrome with still the same wide mud tires. I have a pic of myself my sister and two of my cousins posed in front of it when I was 7 years old.

Is 8 inch suspension lift tall enough to run 38s on an 89 f150 without cutting bumper and fenders? I have it on factory 4wd 2 inch with 33s and no problem at all other than cutting the wheel all the way over while turning it’d rub the fender wells.

If you install a 3 inch body lift kit you can run 33's no problem or 35's. Anything bigger and you'll need more lift. Body lifts are pretty cheap compared to suspension lifts.
