really nice engine good video actually shows the machine being worked. didnt know these engines had bearings, better than new briggs 850 i/c I have on my mountfield m4 major.
@LawnMowersThingsThatMakeNoise9 жыл бұрын
hi dai w is that a 6.5hp engine ? (8.50 torque) I fitted a b and s intek pro to a mountfield m4 but found it to be heavy and overkill.

Ive got one of those engines but from 1988. Have yet to install it on a mower. Its a dark green coloured engine. One problem is that its not originally a lawnmower engine so I'll have to make an adapter of sorts to attach a blade
@dafyddwhittle9 жыл бұрын
hi yes its the new professional series 8.50 ft lb gross torque engine and the mower is 1977 originally had a 92908 b&s engine(3.5hp) but replaced it as I wanted more power. new engine weighs 11.2 kg and is i/c version so has cast iron sleve but no bearings. I only use this mower for flat ground so its fine. Please check out my video of an Etesia Pro 51 with Robin EC13V 2 sttoke engine fitted. this Etesia is self propelled (weighs 55 kg roughly) and cuts and collects in the rain without clogging. still restoring it now as it had been ruined before I had it(had no engine, drive system broke) hopefully i'll show it cutting at some point when its finished. Hope you enjoy.

+Dai w Do you still have the old engine ? I cant find a specification for the Intek pro that i have, it has an external oil filter
@Idontknow-sd1jp6 жыл бұрын
I've got one of these, theres a small spark, but it won't run. It gas oil and petrol. Pull cord works, no severe leaking? Any help? Thanks
@LawnMowersThingsThatMakeNoise6 жыл бұрын
If small spark. the points will need cleaning, Remove Blower housing. Remove starter clutch, Remove flywheel, Remove shiny steel cover, emery board for nails, or very smooth sand paper, clean the point gap, and condensor, do not make any adjustment at this point. check gap if you want. re assemble.

hi, I dont have the old engine anymore, sorry. The oil filter and pump on your engine isnt true forced/pressurized lubrication max working angle for these engines is 15 degrees continuous and a slightly steeper again for an internitent period of time. this is because all their sub 7 hp engines use slinger wheel for splash lubing the engine. the oil filter only partially filters the oil. check out my video of my 2 stroke robin ec13v on an Etesia pro 51. its often said to be the most durable mower engine made for lawnmowers. hope the info I gave will help you. call universal engine power for engine parts/sales tech adviceon your engine. regards Dai W thanks

Will this do bramble?
@LawnMowersThingsThatMakeNoise6 жыл бұрын
Andrew Hollis I have gone over brambles and it cuts them into smaller pieces. But not as effectively as a single blade rotary that sucks them up toward the blade

Is that the original exhaust ?
@LawnMowersThingsThatMakeNoise8 жыл бұрын
Martin C unfortunately not. the original was rotten and very loud. the studs snapped even after using acetone etc to free them.
@martinc66108 жыл бұрын
It's in great condition for its age, I think pre 1982 models are much better before they painted them dark green which peels off over time , the lighter green seems to wear better maybe they were lead based? Or somthing.
