I just installed a replacement stylus with a built-in brush on my 40-year old Stanton 681eee moving-iron cartridge. The cartridge came with the turntable (Pioneer PL-630) when I bought it. I recently had the turntable serviced.
August 5, 2021 update: my brother-in-law and I listened to a number of songs and came to the conclusion the new stylus sounds a little too bright. So I took off the new stylus and replaced it with the original Stanton 680EEE (Elliptical) stylus and things sound much warmer. I will continue to break in the new stylus to see if the brightness subsides.

I have the same. I prefer the sound without brush and removed it. Very good cartridge. Mine is with the original stylus. My opinion- sound is neutral, but not enough “meat”, “body “.

I own about 20 different cartridges, MM, MC, MI…and headshells, and I often go back to my 681EEE with a VividLine stylus. There’s just something about MI carts vs MM and even MC. Others like Grado, Soundsmith, Nagaoka are all MI, and they sound fantastic. Thanks for the cool vid. One of my turntables is a Technics SL1200, and I’ve done most of Kevin’s / KAB’s upgrades.

Congrats on the new stereo rack for 2 decks! I did a similar thing and run one stereo and one mono turntable. It’s good to have options. Thanks again! 🔊😊🎶

Yeah sounds alright why didn't you have a microline stylus put on? I wonder how they sound compared to the soundsmith! How do you rate the cartridge?

Hi John, I spent a lot on fixing the turntable so I only spent $50 on the stylus. I did own a Jico stylus but. sold it. Where would you buy a microline stylus?

I like the Stanton with the original stylus (warm sound) and breaking in a new stylus from KABUSA (a little bright). A few days ago I bought a NOS Stereohedon stylus on Ebay from Australia. Hope it arrives by the end of August. I like the Denon 103r like you.

@@theredon2 - the 10x5 is very good, but save your $750 and keep working with your 103r. You can retip it in the future

What tracking force are you using ?

It's .75 to 1.25 grams recommended plus 1 gram for the brush. I’m using 1.25 + 1.0 = 2.25
