We are working on the same project right now- at 3:37 you pulled out a thing "forget what it is called"...but it's was "shot"... same with the one we have- Do you know what it is for? one of the thin wires was broken so I soldered a short thin copper wire to the terminal and we're crossing our fingers

I think the part your referring to is the heater fan resistor. I think you can still buy those from Toyota. Let me know if that's what your referring to

Did you have to take the whole dash off to get the heater core assembly out? Trying this right now on my 83 and the manual is not helpful

help the corrosion, mine was getting rusty., it also helps with heat.
