I have the micro amp..really cool pedal that gives the amp room to push the valves into subtle break up. I personally use it with an Orange AD15 so works a treat

If you are still searching for 'your' tone get the micro amp as it adds a little flavour. If your tone is perfect already but too low, get the cae.

The Micro amp seems to have a bit of a mid bass boost and the CAE is more transparent with a slight increase in top end

A booster should be checked with an overdriven amp. The booster work fine with plexi or jcm800.

i prefer the CAE, less distortion and i think it will give the right amount of gain

I notice little if any difference until they are both cranked, and I then hear that the micro amp sounds fuller and has a more even and balanced range of sound, meaning everything sounds equal and there are no lows or highs that stand/jump out and throw off the sound. The micro has a better tone across the whole spectrum, which sounds better to me. The new boost/line driver sounds has too much treble and sounds a bit shrill next to the old micro amp.

Personally I wanted a clean driver so I could push old tube amps beyond max gain so cae was obvious choice for me

The problem is KZbin, comparing audio on this format is useless. So videos sound good when people use their phones to record, KZbin compresses and colors the signal. Never judge a pedal or audio device by listening to it on KZbin.

Maybe my ears are insensitive, maybe youtube compresses the sound too much but the differences were sooo subtle that without a direct side by side comparison would go unnotice to me...

I didn't notice much difference either. There was one spot, when he turned it up a little past 1/2, the mew line booster sounded slightly brighter than the micro amp. At 3/4 of the way up they are back to sounding the same, and then cranked all the way I think the booster is a little shrill compared to the micro amp.

which one has the least HISS? Micro amp noise floor is -87dbV , CAE is >95db ? but the rating for CAE in the manual is >95db , i don't think it is equal to dbV unit.

At low levels Custom Audio was better, when cranked up Micro Amp is the better one with no arguments.
