1980's Hoover U2332 Turbopower Upright Vacuum Cleaner Unboxing & First Look

Another old video rescued from my previous computer, this Hoover Turbopower in a fetching Wedgewood Green fills another gap in the collection of classic 1980s Hoover uprights.

It's from September 1985 , so a very early model and I think it's the 3664th one made .

Correct. My U2332 from April 1985 , I find it odd that they only launched the range in 1983 and a year later at most, launched a whole new colour range. Did the 1984/5 range include the infamous "glass" red Autoflex ?

Very nice, you have an early second generation one there! That machine was manufactured in September 1985! Your example of the U2332 is probably one of the best you’ll find nowadays. The baseplate is likely original as there is no centre grills on it, like the later ones had. The stiffness of the main body holding to the chassis is caused by the metal brackets being tightened too much, loosening them slightly will slacken up the movement of the body on the chassis. The machine runs exactly as it should. 🙂

Crikey £100! I'm a rich man... The pivot points need a little grease, common issue that you can get to easily with the hood off. New brushroll bearings and motor bearings would have that purring like a kitten, rather than the roar it has now! Looks very tidy though, hopefully the polish residue I can see on the bumper cleans off!

It's thanks to people like Roger and Sam (Beko) that I purchased my first Turbopwer (auto-flex in grey) this year from ebay. I really love it. It was in beautiful condition too.

yep was a great vac great suction had no lean at all that one bought it from an ad in the local paper years ago sold that one to you then got a turbopower boost in metallic blue

He does yes, of course. A stock of "Apple blossom" and "spring fresh " or something they are. But no "Tobacco clear" ,he references in other vids. There ain't nothing that this lad doesn't have.

What's with all these people wanting to back out of their sale because they didn't get as much money out of the auction as they wanted? Isn't that what a reserve is for??? If you don't want less than X amount of cash, set the reserve at X. If it isn't met, the auction is a flop and there is no winner.
