I was in the military during the Carter administration. In my opinion, President Carter was very honest, decent man, but I have to say that his presidency by-and-large was ineffective.

@GoofusMoofus12 The prime example of being "ineffective" would be the Iran hostage situation. Those hostages were there for close to 15 months. It took Ronald Reagan a couple of weeks after his being sworn in as president to get them back. Also, another example of being "ineffective" was that joke of a rescue mission to recover the hostages. 2 or 3 pieces of equipment broke down. It was a major cluster****.

No he’s not good. He was. A ghost president never gave speeches, Nobody liked his policies tax tax tax he was moving the country backwards inflation terrible so high everything was out of control and rising fast, unemployment was real bad too and interest rates rose to over 20%. Our military was so weak most adults feared Russia daily and Russia was the one supper power THAT was scary alone. It was very difficult to get even a minimum wage job the economy was broken bad too also Carter lied in this debate he had a plan to raise taxes more. Like Reagan said give the people back their money and they will create more jobs and boost the economy, the economy was broken and Carter was fueling it with his liberal policies!!!!

Id hate to say it but maybe jimmy carter was the correct pick in this election 44 years ago. He may seem slow but thats only because reagan had a deconstructive battle plan and Carter spoke from his heart. Sadly of the two the lesser seemed more favorable because he was able to portray a more upbeat personality over jimmy carters actual experience as president. And what carters experience tells us in this debate is that the job takes a toll on those that take the job seriously. Those that come out of office the same as they went in. Obviously learned nothing in four years. That in total is what the average American child will spend a third of their life learning in school. These people who learn nothing in that amount of time in my opinion are less intelligent than a third grader.

Carter says " we are demanding the people to sacrifice". No wonder it was such a hard time. Demanding, mandating, and dictating all in the same family of taking away your freedoms while the government enslaves you to spend your hard earned wages. We were newly married during this time and they were lean times. Interest rates grew to 16%. Reagan's trickle down theory worked but it took time. You can't expect to turn around a sad mess quickly. America is a very specific country that can glorify people like Ronald Reagan. But I think Trump's love is much more deserved than Reagan's. Trump represents white Americans who feel abandoned due to a number of strange factors. During his first presidential term, Trump subsidized many people in the United States. And in 2020, the United States had problems with inflation, which seemed to whiten his name in American history. Trump's choice is actually a pattern, but not an accident.
