Of course those cue dots were probably punched and repunched by multiple hands depending how these films were shipped across the country.

Is that what they were? I thought they were just blemishes on the film. Learning something new every day.

Ah, the days of neighborhood TV repairmen. Now, if your TV breaks down, you either have to ship it back to the factory or just chuck it and buy a new one...

I think Blewskis TV used to be in the little plaza next to Dixon Manor Apartments on Culver rd, where Mad Hatters smoke shop is now. And Captain Cooks Pizza was where Applebees is now, on East Ridge Rd. But like I'd remember because this was 9 years before I was born. haha. God I wish TV was still like this, with the old test patterns and promos with that music.

"The Movies" was the locally-branded umbrella title for this particular ABC affiliate; As far as I know, fellow ABC affiliates WABC in New York and W E W S in Cleveland used the same star-animation and musical bumper package.

Why shouldn't you adjust your television set during a technical difficulty?
@TheMediaHoarder9 жыл бұрын
+Jack Smith MB OWN SFTB TJTF EDCP VGCP (ジャック・スミス) They would say that to let people know the problem was on their end, not on the viewer's TV. If the picture went to black unintentionally, a voiceover would usually say "Please do not adjust your set".
@Undead_Shep5 жыл бұрын
I agree with the video owner. It lets people know that it’s not a problem on your side it’s their problem. If there is no picture a voice over would say “do not adjust your set”

@@TheMediaHoarder when you mean adjust you mean like with a rabbit ear antenna.
@etekweb4 жыл бұрын
@@marcomacias3960 That would be one example. Or, especially on TVs of this time period, adjusting the picture/color controls. Or, if there were difficulties causing there to be picture but no sound, adjusting the volume. If you adjusted these thinking the issue was on your end, the TV would then be set incorrectly when things start working again.
