1981-10-03 - Twins at White Sox - Enhanced WGN Broadcast - 1080p

Not the greatest recording - a lot of jumpiness to it, but decent enough. Reverted a bunch of compression and noise with Topaz and used Resolve to brighten the picture a bit and to inject a bit more color. My thanks to romelovesdan for providing the DVD files used for this enhancement project

That's no problem sir. Even seeing this game with some imperfections it's still better than nowadays sports. Classic White Sox uniforms. Great players. Kent Hrbek, Carlton Fisk, and other legendary players! This game will be a blast to watch.

Dave even though you said it’s not the greatest recording it looks good to me. I know Harry did games for the White Sox’s but he will always be remembered as the play by play guy of the Cubs.

A Tip of the Sox cap and a "This Bud's for you" from Harry, for this one. The uniform contrast and design, the chance to re-visit Comiskey Park, the once "Baseball Palace of the World", is a sight to behold.........Some 'modern statistics' show the White Sox should have been better than their ultimate result. A hot 1981 First half start by Oakland, and a second half slump prevented them from making the 1981 split season playoffs.

Funny to see I never even knew these all whites existed until now You weren’t going to see the White Sox on the game of the week in 1981 so the only other place you could see those kind of teams unis were from baseball cards.

These were my favorite White Sox uniforms of all-time, as they were so unique with the collar. I loved it better when they paired the home white tops with the navy blue pants and on the road the blue top on white pants. They started using the all-white combo this season.

This was the true ending to this exciting and wild White Sox Bill Veeck & Harry Caray era, although by this point, Jerry Reinsdorf had already taken over ownership of the franchise. These were my favorite all-time White Sox uniforms, as they were so unique. I liked it better when the home kits were paired with the white jersey and navy blue pants, they used all white this season. Harry Caray's fun ballpark culture ended too once he went over to the northside the year after and the Cubs adopted the exciting gameday experience that the Sox had in the Veeck era.
