I remember this game, I was in first grade. This was the first year Cincinnati had new helmets and uniforms. My dad is a die hard Bengals fan and a giant Kenny Anderson fan. We lived in Youngstown/Warren OH area where I grew up. It was very cold there too and we were getting snow. My dad was worried that the tv antenna would freeze up and we wouldn’t get a great reception of the game on our big heavy counsel tv. We had that rotor that sat on top of the tv and the giant antenna on the roof with the metal ladder going up to it. We had no remote and got 3 channels and 4-5 on a really good day. My dad screamed and yelled the entire game as was usual for him, but he was so happy at the end. I could have sworn I saw some idiot drunk fan with their shirt off during this game. I remember that years super bowl as well. My dad didn’t take any chances on missing that game. We went to my Aunt and Uncles house where they had cable to watch that game. San Fran was the bane of the Bengals in the 80’s. Two super bowl losses, both to the 49’s and to a head coach that worked for the Bengals under Paul Brown (and created the west coast offense for Cincinnati) Bill Walsh.

Kenny absolutely should be in. He played the hell out of the QB position. The difference between him and Bradshaw was the amount of Hall of Famers surrounding them.

Remember this like yesterday. Kind of felt bad for the Chargers. They were coming off the epic OT win the week before vs Miami in Miami. Many key players were drained and dehydrated from the humid weather and then one week later the Chargers were forced to play in one of the coldest games in league history. They simply didn't have a chance despite having an excellent, explosive team.

I remember watching this game on tv that absolutely FRIGID Sunday afternoon. I never doubted for a moment that the Bengals would win. The Bengals were ultimately much better prepared for the weather conditions and their opponent, the San Diego Chargers. I only wish that later on that day that Dwight Clark of San Francisco had NOT made the heroic catch against Dallas. I really think that Cincinnati could've beaten the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl 16.
