Yes! Sadly, my Boys lost, but that Steeler team was great no doubt as much as it pains me to say, however, I think we actually outplayed them for large stretches of both Super Bowl losses to them, however, they made the plays when it counted. The 70's was fantastic era...by far the BEST EVER IN THE NFL. My Boys did get revenge on the Steelers in 95, but we still owe them one. It's a great rivalry...Cowboys vs Steelers. We need to get one more to get to 6 to tie us for the lead again, then another to take our rightful spot on top lol. Seriously, the Steelers, Niners, Cowboys, Patriots all teams with great histories.

Made it 35-17 and Staubach tried to make up for it and ran out of time. 35-31. This was the back breaker. Randy White’s fumble.

@@o.i.c.uvanish9169 Oh, I'd likely agree with that. "Good enough," however, is a far, far cry from one of the greatest QBs of all time. Bradshaw was utterly horrible early on in his career. Hell, even in '74, a Super Bowl winning season for the Steelers, not only did Bradshaw NOT even start the season, he was benched mid-season because he sucked so hard. He ended the season as the starter because the Steelers had truly no one else to turn to. In '75, he clearly was a game-manager QB and this continued through, say, '77 or so. Right around '77/going forward, he THEN became really good, his best season likely being '78. He was very good in '79, but was a God damn turnover machine that year (as was the whole damn offense for that matter). The ONLY reason Bradshaw is in the HOF is due to TEAM ACHIEVEMENTS. You can pretty much NEVER judge/evaluate a QB based on TEAM ACHIEVEMENTS and anyone who says otherwise is an ignorant fool. Like Namath, Bradshaw remains one of the most overrated QBs of ALL TIME....

I was 17 when I saw this titanic clash between these 2 powerhouse teams. What an epic game as was the first meeting, except higher scoring. But it was like watching Ali vs Frazier for the 2nd time, creating the greatest interconference rivalry in the NFL.

No other Super Bowl had two great teams to match these two.steel Curtain vs Doomsday II Defense. Staubach vs Bradshaw. Noll vs Landry. The Cowboys played in 5 Super Bowls in the seventies and lost 3 by a combined total of 11 points. Two of those losses were against the Steelers. I loved the Cowboys but had to concede that Pittsburgh was the Team of the Seventies. Hats off to the Steelers.

I agree 100%! Landry did blow the game on the opening drive by trying to show how smart he is by calling that double reverse. Dorsett was getting in solid runs on that first drive. Mean Joe Greene has said he was glad they stopped feeding the ball to Dorsett. After those first few runs by Dorsett Greene stated that he and other Steelers defenders were thinking "It's gonna be a long day." Jimmy Johnson would have told Dorsett to shove that ball up the Steelers a$$.

I hated that the Steelers won. I thought for sure Roger and the Cowboys would get it back from the loss in SB 10 but it was the Steelers time and it wasn’t a total loss for Dallas because they won the year before in SB 12. 39:52 both Barnes and Swann got their feet tangled up. That was no interference but the idiot back judge called and it. It got the Cowboys so lose focus that they were able score two drives. Then the Henderson hit after the whistle. Then on 3rd and 9 Franco Harris was mad he demanded the ball and just ran like a mad man for that touchdown. The Gerella slipping down and Randy White fumbling the ball that the Steelers recovered. Next play Bradshaw threw that touchdown to Swann and that was the game. All from that one pass interference play led to those chain of events. The Steelers took advantage the Cowboys just fell mentally.

Landry had 'The System'. Chuck Noll had said you win by doing ordinary things better than anybody else. The easiest thing to do in football is run the ball. Then Landry had to get cute with some trickery on that opening drive when Dorsett was looking All-World. Coaching doomed Dallas just as much as any missed play or errantly called penalty in SB 13.

Even though I am an die hard eagles fan, for I bleed green, this game at even 40 years later, I still rooted from my heart against the Steelers. I wanted Dallas to win this super bowl so badly. And by the way, even though the eagles finally won a super bowl, this Super Bowl, this was by far the best Super Bowl game ever. It had more drama, more hall of famers, more back stories, and some controversial calls, and I still think the refs helped the Steelers out a bit, and I hate the Cowboys, but I rooted for Roger, Tony Dorsett, and Drew Pearson. This was the greatest Super Bowl game ever, and the most pain I ever felt in a super bowl game. And I am a die hard Eagle fan, with 2 Super Bowl losses( Raiders- Patriots), but this game still hurts over 43 years later. The game was that good. This game had my favorite receivers, Lynn Swan and Drew Pearson. My favorite Quarterback Roger, my favorite running back Tony Dorsett, The great legendary Mean Joe Greene, Terry Bradshaw, the great John Stalworth, Jack Lambert, and Randy White, and more. Both coaches are hall of famers. The game had everything and more, and went down to the last 23 seconds. The Cowboys never gave up, and they kept coming back despite the mistakes they made, they kept coming. Such drama. Best Super Bowl game ever.

Forgot Ham, until LT , the gtratest outside linebacker. From NYC but my blood is black n gold , have to admit , Tony Dorset was my favorite RB. Greater breakaway runner than Barry Sanders. Barry was more elusive. Walter was the strongest of the three. Juice , Dickerson ,Gale Sayers, great strides, breathtaking! Franco homeboy and a true class act.

Yes, "they did" and Pete Rozelle "admitted it" as such after reviewing the tape. One of the last BAD calls was when Lynn Swann interfered with Benny Barnes and Barnes got the call instead. Rozelle mentioned it "specifically".

Dallas should have won that game by 17 points . All the big plays went against them . The smith drop , the bs PI on Barnes , the Randy white fumble on Garella slipping . , Stallworth out of bounds first TD , bleier making a 1 in 10 catch and Stallworth s second TD 4 Cowboys missed the tackle and Franco’s TD shoukd have never happened cause of ref running into Waters and also the nullified the Henderson Sack .

Hmm. Watched the replay. The lineman blew the cowboy out that they whine the official was in the way. Nobody was close to touching Franco. They can't admit either the call was correct against them the execution of the offense was perfect or that little play they had planned they screwed up. Not Bradshaw. Plus a hall of fame runner such as Franco. You can stop them most of the day, but they find a way to make a play or 2 . That's why he is Franco

Not sure I am that excited about this year's Super Bowl. Have not been since the leage became the Knee Eff Ell to me, but let's face it; we'll have two losing SB teams all time facing off on Sunday. Best case, one of them gets to 0.500 all time. Best case. One solice, one of them will be the winner. May it be rigged; but we all know it is in todays professional sports. Good luck!
