49ers the team of the 1980s. Though the Cowboys would return to the NFC title game the following year, followed by playoff appearances in 1983 and 1985. The rest of the 80s was horrid for Dallas.

Charlie waters and dd lewis retired after the 81 campaign. The team in landry era never was the same after that.

I've heard danny white say he felt sorry for Craig Morton in sb 12 cause of ed jones. Even being a cowboys fan. I felt sorry for doug Williams in that 81 po game. Ed too tall jones was relentless. It was a nightmare for bucs qb doug Williams.

Reasons for this team getting no. 7 is dorsetts best year of his carreer. And about all other teams that don't make the top 7 would've been playing 49rs in candlestick. Where I don't think any of them would've won. Also the 81 teams 38-0 playoff win. Biggest in team history yet today. And this team was undefeated at texas stadium. For 2 years straight 80 n 81. 18-0 including po. And that's where the teams beyond the no. 7 spot would've played.
